A Policeman for a Day and Dinner with Gilberto and Bunnie

[Tuesday, 22 May, 2007]

I was busy with work and had my supper after 2am. Finally, I went to bed at around 4am. I waked up at 8am and set off for MediaCorp.

By the time I reached the Radio Gate, Wanyu called me and I got to find out the instructions from her. I went over to the guard at the guard house and asked him whether I had to register somewhere in order to go in. he answered in a sarcastic manner like as if I was born to know all the procedures.

I walked to the wrong direction but managed to find my way to the costume department with the aid of a lady. The auntie at the counter was not as polite. She told me to find a suitable pair of leather shoes which were hung outside and since the sizes were not indicated properly, I had to take extra time to compare the sizes. Suddenly she called me in a rude tone and said that I could have told her if I could not find it, as if I knew she had many more shoes inside the store. If she had the brain, she would have told me earlier that she could get a pair with exact size for me. I got changed into the policeman’s uniform and the belt was a hassle. The auntie helped guided me along with the same “heck care” tone and thus I decided to forgive her for her rudeness since she was kind enough to help me.

I managed to make friends with three other part time actors. The bus did not set off on time. After a girl boarded it, we finally set off which was around half an hour upon the scheduled time. She sat at the front seat like as if she was at home and later, I got to know from my fellow “policemen” that she was an actress called “Jessica”.

We went to Hougang, which was very near to Lorong Ah Soo. We proceeded to the car park straight away and started rotting there. The big group of MediaCorp workers spent lots of time just on a scene and I could see that the actors’ acting were not very good. I got to know more stuffs about MediaCorp from my fellow “policemen” again.

Soon, it was 1pm and the four of us went down to have our lunch. It was an awkward moment for me to dress in the police uniform at the public. I went straight to the nasi lemak stall and went back to sit down as soon as possible to avoid drawing too much attention from the public.

At 2pm, we went back and finally began our work. As foreseen, there was nothing much I had to do but to walk around. The director was a lady who was not very impressive but was able to control everything good enough. The video camera man was a joker. I had roughly three scenes as background policeman and I could not hear the “cut” from the director most of the time. The vehicles leaving the car park delayed the filming.

We set off for MediaCorp after 3pm. Like previously, we did not talk on the bus. As I was returning the stuffs to the costume store, a different auntie served me and she was far worse than the earlier one. She was looking at stupid things like not tightening the belt before returning to her. She also claimed that it was polite to pin the socks together before returning, indirectly scolding me. Alas, she told me to pin the socks with the uniform and after doing it, she said it was common sense to pin the socks on the same hanger as the uniform instead. I felt like slapping her for that was the first time I was there and different people obviously had different ways to keep the stuffs; her method might not be the best but she could have given clearer instruction. After all, I could have junked everything there instead of making them nicely for her. I remained polite.

My good friend sitting between me and the window throughout the journey from Hougang back to MediaCorp

A policeman for a day. I should have asked my one-day colleagues to take photos for me instead of using this very dirty mirror inside the dressing cubicle.

I had a final clearer understanding about MediaCorp on this day. There were a number of cocky staffs working there, putting on air even though they were only doing the support roles like the guard and costume store. The part time actors were paid very low and they were basically earning nothing much after travelling and taking their own meals in between the filming; they were mainly doing it as interest. The actors and actresses were not as friendly as seen on television but it did not matter to me since I did not give a damn to any of them except for those who could prove great acting skill and did not put on air.

I took bus 167 home and dozed off a couple of time until I waked up at Kim Tian Road. I got so frustrated and at the same time, my brain was almost numbed. I walked home instead of going to the opposite side to take another bus back. I was walking like a zombie somehow with the dizziness.

Fish and Chips from Secret Recipe. Bunnie was supposed to treat me but I did not want to take advantage of him.

Gilberto

I took a little rest and bathed before meeting up with Gilbert near my place. We went to Cityhall and Raymond aka Bunnie aka Dog Dog was late as usual. We went to Marina Square and shopped at the Top Man shop. Gilbert was so mesmerized by a top and he refused to leave the shop even though Raymond was already famished. We decided on dining at the Secret Receipt and I had a plate of Fish and Chips, which was not very fascinating or rather, it was plain. Gilbert and I shared a plate of salad as appetiser which was quite satisfying. It took them very long to come over after we called for the bill.

We went back to Top Man shop where Gilbert purchased his top foolishly. He was short of money and he could have saved up the thirty over bucks when he was not very short of causal wear. We went to the G2000 shop but I could not make up my mind to purchase the formal shirts since I was not short I had how many of them inside my wardrobe.

I took train home and started working as usual and got very disappointed that the shares price went down very greatly. It was very stupid to be paid just one cent for every click on advertisements by visitors.

Sichun’s Cookie Baking at Mrs Ng’s House

[Monday, 21 May, 2007]

I worked till 3am and gave up for I was nodding badly. I got up at 8am to check email. There was no reply from Iris and my plan to go earlier to the company to sign contract gone with the wind. At around 10.30am, I went over to Lippo Centre but I was told by Kimmy that Iris was on medical leave. She gave a call to Iris and Iris told me to go over to the company on Wednesday to report for work as well as to sign the contract.

I went home and took a panadols before going down to UOB bank to open a saving account. My POSBank account was almost drained after withdrawing the money from there and I had to open my old red packets to top up the money for the new account. There was only a person queuing in front of me but I waited for very long before getting to talk to Miss Foo. I got myself a Visa so that I could purchase stuffs online, mainly for my website invasion.

I had to go back home to put the documents before finding my mum for lunch. Her friend treated us and I felt uncomfortable. After that, we went to NTUC to get Raisim for Sichun and I took train to Clementi instead of bus 196, which I had to walk further but timing was shorter. When I first got into the train, Ricia from MediaCorp called me and asked me down the next day. It was a good opportunity not to be wasted and thus I accepted it, despite I had promised Kailin a week ago that I would be free to go out with her while she was on off. I felt guilty because on the last day of her short holidays, I had to begin my full time job.

After reaching Mrs Ng’s house, I started playing with the dog and my camera. Sichun, Huimin and Pamela were already there. After some time, I dozed off on the sofa when the effect of the panadols started to work on me. Upon waking up, I received bad news from Sichun that the girl who he was making the cookies for did not want to meet him up. I was a greater failure and thus had nothing much to advise him on.

As we left the place, I called Miss Lee to see if I could collect the keys for Ang Mo Kio from her since I could reach JTC Submit within fifteen minutes and I probably would not have the time to do it again for I had to work during weekdays. She told me it was too early to collect since the completion date was still far away.

I took bus 196 home and started working for the rest of the day.

Beach and Thai Disco

[Sunday, 20 May, 2007]

It was yet another tough work and I finally got to sleep at around 4am. I got up before 8am to go for my haircut appointment. After that, I came home, bathed and dozed off again after some work.

I overslept and did not give Weitat morning call on time but he did not wake up despite calling him at later hour. I went to Harbourfront’s Seah Lm food centre and waited there alone. Mingfa was only on his way to meet Wilson up and Anqi as usual, was still asleep. I could have waited and hopped onto Wilson’s car but I had to wait for Ken for I was the one inviting him to join us. He came along with Clarence and I realised I could have spent the time more useful by eating first since they did not want to take any food.

We went in by bus and that was the first time they took the bus directly to beach car park. We went to the hotel at Siloso beach straight away because Ken wanted to get changed whereas I needed to pee. After that, we met up with Wilson and Mingfa who had already arrived at our latest hot spot. This time, an extra third court was built but there was no court line.

Ken and Clarence started playing with my volleyball but I only sat down to rest and wait for the noon sun to descend. Mingfa, Wilson and I went to the 7-11 and got ourselves a cup of big gulp each.

We started playing on the court but soon, got drained out and left to rest under the shade. Da Zhang met up with us but left soon since we were not playing anymore. Tiffany and Apple arrived, followed by Anqi. I was rotting myself away most of the time under the shade and even gave up a chance to play on the court with outsiders because we had too many people.

Weitat arrived and I joined them to play lazily outside the court when Da Zhang returned. There were two bikini girls going for suntan during late afternoon and Weitat said one of them was my type but I did not get to see her closely. Tiffany left with Apple after 6pm. Afterwards, I started playing with camera. Wilson, Weitat, Mingfa and I got to play inside the court finally. I played defence as usual and did pretty well but Wilson seemed to be exhausted from the previous games already. We won the first match but lost to the second team with an excellent player.

We queued up for another game but gave up soon since there were a few teams queuing in front of us already. Then, we went down to the water, had a good soak and crapped about a couple nearby.

After bathing, I went to Coffee Bean with Weitat. The rest of them, Mingfa, Anqi and Ken, took Wilson’s car and left for Golden Mile. Weitat treated me to a cup of Black Forest while he took Chocolate Belgiam, which was a better drink since I prefer chocolate. Together, we waited very long at the taxi stand at the Beach Car Park. Many peop
le in front of us gave up and thus we managed to proceed to the first in queue but there was no cab coming in. we finally decided to call for a cab for it was already 9pm and the rest of them were waiting for us to begin their dinner. Soon, a cab came over and we got up after the passenger alighted. Until we were near the destination, Weitat finally asked the cab driver how to cancel the previous booking for cab; it was too late already but Weitat insisted in trying.

The gang had their dinner at the Thai restaurant with another guy called Chun Guang. Weitat and I took the leftover food, which was very little. Each of us had to pay $17 each at the end and I thought that was wastage of money for I could have spent less money on something I would enjoy and could have my fill.

We went up to Wilson’s hotspot, the Thai Disco. I was very turned off to see Wilson and Anqi asking for cigarettes from Chun Guang. They started playing games but I did not join in since I did not want to drink. After some time, all of them left to collect stuffs from Wilson’s car and ease themselves at the restroom. I gave Chun Guang some faces and had a slip of the beer. Suddenly three Thai girls came over and I remembered clearly the bad encounters when I went to the pubs with Quek months ago. Luckily, the Thais were not as aggressive as the Pilipino. I was only taken advantage on the back of my right palm when one of them accidentally scratched it and started to “sayang” there while apologising to me. I was not able to “talk cock” with them like what Mingfa told me to, for my English was not good and their accent was kind of weird.

Fortunately, Mingfa came back and I decided to leave. Wilson was asking us to accompany him with Chun Guang but none of us wanted to stay. They tried to get Anqi and I to go back since Wilson could send us home after that but I could not stand the girls. Perhaps, I knew well they were not the type of girls I wanted and thus, I would not take them even for free.

Anqi and I walked along the road and made two left turn, finally reaching the familiar bus-stop at Beach Road. I waited there for her boyfriend to arrive in a cab and finally caught my bus and went home. Work was hectic.

Takeaway for Them

[Saturday, 19 May, 2007]

While I was trying out the MindSoft Utilities XP software, Ying Ying messaged me and told me she could go for the beach outing sine her class gathering was decided to be on the day itself and not the next day. I almost wanted to worship her for being so sporting and friendly until she told me the condition the next day that she would go only if my dear sister was going and it was a sudden twist, turning me so off.

Anyway, I was having this itchy hand that I clicked on the Internet Optimizer, which resulted that my MSN could not be logged in after restart. There was internet connection and that the browsers were working fine. I did a number of trial and errors on the setting but none work. In the end, I had no choice but to reinstall my MSN, which actually worked.

My mum and elder brother wanted to take supper at the nearby coffee shop. I called Quek Quek to check out how he was getting on. He seemed to be drunk already and he asked who I was when I was using my mobile phone, and he promised to call me back, which he did not. I had two plain roti prata despite the fact that I was having flu and sore throat. I continued to work after reaching home, nodded in front of the screen a couple of times before going to sleep at 4am.

I managed to wake up before noon. Xiangxin messaged me in MSN and told me he had a friend asking him to approach me to help her find a flat in Ang Mo Kio. If I had not found a full time job, I would have gone all the way to help her since she was so kind to approach me and that Xiangxin’s friends should be of a certain standard – good people. It got me quite frustrated. I continued to blog and update my websites the entire afternoon.

I left for Clementi at 6pm and went to the hawker centre to help my volleyball team-mates get their food. There was some hesitation and finally they wanted a packet of carrot cake and three packets of chicken cutlet, but they increased one more share in the end. I had to stand near the western food stall in case my order was ready and the oily smoke from the satay stall besides it irritated me. Basically, I was lazy to even buy food for myself and it took me a lot of patience to run the errand for them. I hated the oily smell on my shirt and body, especially the hair. They could have sent someone who was driving to come over to get the food or even pick me up but I had to walk over from the central to Clementi ITE. I told my subconscious to remain calm during the long wait for the food would certainly brighten my buddies’ evening.

The nose block and itchiness on the throat irritated me throughout the evening. When I first got there, the mixture of Mingfa’s students were playing their last match. Weilun came over after that and started talking non-stop to me when I was not in the mood to hear any irrelevant stuff. I was still lack of sleep somehow and my condition was poor. I seemed to be taking off in a drunkard’s style during free spike. I played as libero throughout all the four matches and did a reasonable job. There was fun and laughers throughout and all of us did enjoy the night.

Suimin called me just when I was about to bathe. It had been so long since I last heard from her and I was quite disappointed that she was looking for me just for the sake of her PhotoShop again. I had burnt one CD for her soon after she requested for it but she did not seem to be interested to get it from me and thus I had already given it to Tiffany and Mingen. It turned out that she would rather buy it on her own and waste my efforts.

Porn star

We had fun inside the toilet. Weilun was crapping as usual and sounded rude to Mingfa. I started taking out my phone to take photos of him inside the cubicle but everyone was so enthusiastic that they took over from me. We had three camera phones in the end but did not do a satisfying job. Wilson was holding my phone in the end and when Weilun splashed water at him, he shouted as if Weilun was the one taking photos and all of us burst into laughers once again. Weilun remained calm afterwards and did not ask us to delete the photos.

Mingfa, Tony and I took Wilson’s car to the coffee shop. Weitat insisted to not take the car even though he was using adult ez-link card so that he could accompany Junyang. He was stubborn as usual and thus we could not change his mind to not waste the transportation money on the bus.

Since the four of us reached earlier than the rest, I called them to take an order first since we had to wait for the food. Weitat told me to get him one plate of chicken cutlet but he claimed that he had told me he wanted to get chicken chop. I tried to change the order but the auntie did not allow, but Mingfa kindly offered to order a plate of chicken chop and that he would take the chicken cutlet.

I had fish and chips for chicken chop and half spring chicken would probably worsen my throat’s condition. The inner meat was soft and nice but somehow, the fish could be smashed easily and thus not very easy to be eaten. After that, Junyang, Weitat, Mingfa and I went to the 7-11 store because Weitat wanted to get a prepaid card. We spent quite some time over there before Weitat “sent me home” because he was meeting his friend at Cityhall MRT.

I did not switch off the flash function and since the distance was too far away, it became blurry. Besides, since I had already “beaten the grass and alarmed the snake”, I did not want to risk taking another shot.

There was an attention-seeker playing his music very loud. I tried to take a photo of this inconsiderate asshole but forgot to switch the flash off. Since there were quite a number of passengers around, I felt embarrassed but luckily the asshole did not realise I was taking his photo from far.

Life Is Getting Too Messed Up

We need a change soon probably because somehow this life is getting too messed up.

It is stupid if you cannot pick up your courage to talk to your ice candy when she is reachable just because she shows no time for you and you probably have no chance to convert your dream to reality. It does not matter how presentable you are but you can count yourself a failure when you lose out to some fatso in terms of getting near to her.

It will definitely take years to become successful in order to gain back the confidence to try your luck again. Are you yielding to reality? Do you wish to sit by and wait for someone to take her to tour the moon and that you would wish her happiness?

If you do not only live for love, work on others.

In order to progress, we have no choice but to forsake some stuff. Be it an interest or hobby, or be it your rice bowl, you have to make a decision; at least you get to choose this time whether which one to give up.

Have you been reading my lengthy paragraphs? Have you understood each of my deepest thoughts among the lines? Do you appreciate them?

Give me more time and I will sort things up.

I Got the Job

[Friday, 18 May, 2007]

I only managed to sleep at 4am but had to wake up early. After lazing around on the bed as usual instead of beginning work as planned, I managed to reach the company before 10am. Iris conducted the interview with me and it seemed more like a chit-chat session. She talked more than me to explain about the company’s vision and current situation, and all the questions prepared were not asked.

A thousand dollar

A hundred dollar

I went home to rest immediately. I frequented the bedroom often while doing my work and finally left for Toa Payoh before 3pm. I got there in less than half an hour and waited there while playing game. I met up with Rahman and Kelly before 4pm and when Mr Low was going to pass me the money, I was stunned. At first I saw that there were only ten-dollar notes and it was weird to hold over hundred pieces of them. Rahman did not bring the invoice despite I had reminded him severe times. Everything was settled fast for there was no loan. Kelly had a chat with me outside as I looked at my watch, anxious to make it to the office before 5pm since it was a Friday.

Just as I was leaving, I received a phone call from Iris and she told me the company had decided to employ me. I was taken aback. The fact was that I did not show any talent during the interviews except for my honesty.

I took bus 153 to Bukit Merah and gave a call to Winnie when I passed by Queensway Shopping Centre and she hurried me. I rushed up to the office after reaching the interchange but Winnie made me wait there as she left the office. It was good to see Louis again. I felt quite awkward holding the money and standing there for so long.

On the way home, I was busy coordinating time with David and Kaven for the office space. I began with my work at home and also did some calling for the beach outing.

Quek called me and told me that he was coming over to my place to a pub for someone’s birthday celebration. I was not feeling well and never had the intention to drink and thus I told him to call me when he was bored and we would meet up for coffee instead.

I was preparing to reformat my harddisk for it had been years since I last did it. It was so lag despite I had been scanning it with my anti virus, spyware remover and registry cleaning software often. There were also other major problems like restarting of system on the start-up and wrong labelling of system’s drive.

However, my elder brother advised me not to waste time to reformat it and then he told me to use the MindSoft Utilities XP software to check for problems. Since my ideal plan was to get a faster computer when I got the money and that the 933 MHz system would never improve much, I decided to take up my brother’s suggestion for the time being.

Back to Stagmont Camp Finally

[Thursday, 17 May, 2007]

I was rushing my work and only got to sleep at around 3am. I waked up at 9.30am, lazed around and finally left my house after 11am. I thought I had to queue long at the Cheezy Junior pastries shop but in fact it was not opened yet. Since I saw people inside, I approached them but they told me I had to wait for another ten minutes. Ten minutes later, they were not ready to open the shop yet but one of the guys decided to serve me first while not every flavour was available yet.

I left for the MRT station happily with the two big boxes of pastries. It was a long journey to Choa Chu Kang and there was only an ice candy boarding the train at Bukit Batok. I had to transit to bus and afterwards, walk the slope up to exchange the camp pass at the Stagmont camp guard house. I was disturbed by two aunties who were working in the camp and the guards did not stop me for any checking.

Quek and Ivan were already at the Spec Mess. Then, I gave a call to Kengster to ask him and Rehan down. Ben was already clearing leave while Louis seemed to be absent as usual. We had a chat there with Antonia and others. Later on, Mike and Mr Kelvin came over. As everyone left for work, I went up to visit Shep. She was happy to see me and she even announced her gladness for my Christmas wishing to her. As usual, she claimed that she thought I would hate her like others but I did not. Apart from the doubts she had in me when we first started working together and the pressure she had always been giving, she had done nothing intentionally to hurt me. Miss Lee had long forgotten about me but at least Rajoo seemed to remember me.

I was so glad that it was a Thursday and thus the E-Mart was opened. I went to the E-Mart to visit Auntie Nancy. She looked young like before and was still so polite and helpful. I saw Captain Edward but he could not remember my name. I passed him my namecard shamefully, and told him to just keep my number since I might not be doing property anymore. At the same time, it began to rain.

I rushed over to the medical centre under my small umbrella. My pant was soaked through and the x-ray folder was wet. There was confusion for my docket could not be found but at least they knew that my appointment was scheduled correctly. I got to see the medical officer. He was a nice and quiet guy. I appreciated him a lot for he tried to solve my problem for me, unlike the previous MOs, who were all assholes and had no integrity in their work. He told me if I wanted to persist, he would schedule an appointment with the medical board and sit by my side but my chance of winning the case was low. His plan for me was to downgrade me temporary again but I had to go back to the camp every half or one year to repeat the progress, which was meanwhile the best solution. It was indeed a dark world inside the army. They would only wait for me to break my back before they would downgrade me permanently.

I waited very long at the medical centre to receive my status slip. Their computer was such a hassle. After waiting for half to an hour, I went to find Mike. I stayed inside his office to hear him crap with his colleagues before we set off together, taking a bus to the MRT and then taking the train to Outram. He treated me dinner at a chicken rice shop near CK. After that, we went to Chinatown Point and he treated me coffee at the Coffee Bean. We continued to talk about websites and the future, and I received lots of guidance from him. He was able to motivate me again but it would never last unless he could start his company soon. I started to feel giddy at the end of the talk and my throat had already begun to feel itchy.

I walked him to the Outram Park MRT before walking home by myself. Back at home, it was all about work.

Singapore Waiting Hospital Yet Again

[Wednesday, 16 May, 2007]

It took me great effort to sleep at 4am. I waked up at 8.30am and went to the Singapore Waiting Hospital. I waited one and a half hour at Clinic ‘E’ before seeing the doctor. Somehow, he was similar to the other specialists who did not wish to write a memo to the army’s medical officer for downgrading me. He claimed that the medical officers might not follow their instructions, which was obvious but the medical officers always claimed that they needed the specialist’s letter in order to appeal for my downgrade. Basically, they were pushing the responsibilities around and I had to accept that it was life in Singapore.

Since I was no longer a national service boy anymore, I was able to speak up bravely and claim my right. I told the doctor it was unfair for me if my condition was to worsen during re-service and that the medical officers had asked for the specialist letter so that they could submit my case to the medical board. I won the battle but somehow the memo did not do me very good favour.

After reaching home, I continued with my work. Jianhao messaged me to ask if I wanted to do any design for the advertisement but I told him honestly my inspiration would not come just when I was pleased. In fact, I was so busy these days that I had no mood for artistic work at all. I was also unfortunately having no luck for rental stuffs, which had also demoralized me a lot.

I was engaged with chat messages in MSN while working. Eventually Irwin advised me not to meet up with him for I would not be able to talk to him for more than an hour before his plane took off. It was such a waste that he had only come back for less than two days and I had not seen him for very long already. I also had fun chatting with Xavier where I poured out some of my failure to him.

This evening, I could not get this line off my mind – “你把我的女人带走,你也不会快乐很久” – you snatch my girl away, but you can never be happy for long. It was a song by温兆伦, which my ex classmates during secondary school days used to joke about.

In the midst of everything, I had received a call from Carol’s company, asking me down for a second interview. I felt so weird that I had screwed up my first interview but they seemed to be giving me extra chances.

Since I was not meeting Irwin anymore, Kaven asked me to have dinner with him. He drove me to Chinatown and he treated me at the famous toad’s leg porridge stall. As usual, he ordered some side dishes. I believed he was treating me as very good friend for I was someone who did not appreciate good food and yet he often asked me out for meals. At least, I was glad that this time the meal was cheaper than the previous ones.

After sending me home, I started working again. At night, I called Carol up and she guided me through the possible interviewing questions. She was so clear-minded and quick-witted that I was suspecting she used to be a professional interviewer.

I Got Home Early

[Tuesday, 15 May, 2007]

I only got to sleep at 4am and eventually waked up after noon. My right shoulder was numb upon waking up for somehow I did not sleep in proper position.

I received a SMS from Jianhao and eventually he got the SPH thing done. He sent me a scanned picture of some newspapers advertisements when I told him I was in a rush to go out. Suddenly he asked if I could design an advertisement in twenty minutes and I was so stunned that I said no immediately. I had been struggling with time management that inspiration had never visited me.

To: Qian Xu Ting

In appreciation of: being more than just a friend to me. We shall stay at the bestest friend ever.

Name: devin yandao

I left for Clementi ITE immediately. I was happy to see Andy, Kok Chiang and Mingen around as well but I was not used to having other outsiders playing together. When I tried to join in the fun, I felt really weird that I could not play properly. Then, I realised it was due to improper sleeping posture which had caused the numbness on my shoulder. My shoulder was strengthless and could never follow my heart.

Since Kok Chiang and Andy wanted to leave in the evening, I joined them for there was no room for us on the court. We went to the usual coffee shop and I had half spring chicken rice.

This was the earliest day that I got home from Clementi ITE before 10pm. The rest of the night was spent on my usual work.

The Killer Phone

[Monday, 14 May, 2007]

I was trying so hard to be a good boy that I was going to bed early at 2am. Just as I was switching off the light at the living room, there was a blown sound and the kitchen was in total darkness. My elder brother called out from the toilet, telling me he was still inside and asking me why I switched off the light.

I thought I can have a good rest for a day and be ready and energetic to finish up my work, but fate played on me. I was waked up by numerous calls and eventually got up before noon. Ten hours of sleep, in fact lesser than that, was actually more than sufficient to everyone but talking about sleep debt, I needed to sleep much more than that. All intelligent human being should know that the required eight hours of sleep per day should be undisturbed one. The phone calls had made me so tired.

I managed to upload photos from the camera and phone into the computer finally for my brother was not at all. Carol and Kaven messaged me and took my time for some serious stuffs as well as causal chats.

Jianhao’s numerous SMS and calls almost drove me crazy. He wanted me to get an account in SPH so that we could post advertisement soon. Months ago, Kelly promised to get them to send Mingfa and me the registration forms but somehow she did not do it. I called Deslyn and the operator told me that she would get Deslyn to call me back. After waiting for a few hours, she got back to me and told me she knew totally nothing about how to register an account under my company’s name. I was so lost for a moment and thus I called James who told me to call him back in five minutes’ time while he checked the exact code. Afterwards, he told me he could not confirm it and I had to play with luck then. I called Ai Lian as instructed by James but again the operator told me she would get back to me, which she did not.

Douglas called me in the evening and we had a fourteen minutes’ chat. I could not really explain why I hated working in the property line for he had actually dialled wrong number and I did not want to bother him too much. I would love to sit down and have a chat with him face to face one day. After all, I guessed I had not followed the right person at the start and everything led me to very bad impression of the line. I was working more than what I deserved and I supposed nobody would understand the shit I had faced and the extra shit I had done for all the past few months. Even Mingfa could never understand nor feel the stress for I was running the errands most of the time, meaninglessly.

The calls by Kelly smashed my brain. I was losing my usual patience nowadays. She seemed to be repeating words again and again, and even instructed me to tell Mingfa things that she had already told him. When she told me to coordinate with the crooked agent, Vincent, I felt like being forced to the edge of a building. I could be a soft guy and never would use my fists to revenge on badass, but he would never be pardoned by my public criticism. Working with such disgusting guy would bring my integrity down.

The thought that I had actually wasted the entire afternoon which I wanted to buck up on all the outdated blog entries and photos made me feel so sick.

It was six days to the next Sunday and I thought I would be early to ask everyone to the beach. I tried asking a few of those who were online but the feedback was not very good. When I was asking Xinyi if she was free to join us, she was already booked for school project. Then, she sent me a poster to ask me to help her with the wordings. After looking at it for more than fifteen minutes, I could not find anything amiss about it.

Finally, I was able to have my jog. After the past two days’ tedious workout, my legs could hardly move. Like usual, I did not control my breathing well after a few rounds but managed to get almost the same timing as the previous time, which was good enough.

Kaven had called me during my jog and I tried to get back to him upon checking my phone but I could not get through his line. He called me back when my sweat had dried up and was ready for my bath. We got to discuss about some important stuffs at first and he explained to me that it was the sellers asking him to push the completion date earlier so that they could get the money faster and it was duly fair for Kaven to request them to move out earlier even though he had promised to let them stay one month after completion. In fact, their new house at Redhill should be ready soon if they did not make the contractor redo some of the renovation.

As I was chatting with Ying Ying about beach volleyball, I tried to persuade Tze Khit to join us. He was the tallest among my team ever since Robin had already drifted far away from us. He had the height for beach volleyball and he would definitely pose fears and dangers to opponents with his spiking, which none of us could do it. He had played beach volleyball for only a couple of times and could not get used to jumping on the sand and thus did not do as well as on normal courts. He did not try to get the feel and gave up. In reality, I should be the one refusing to play on sand since I was more than twenty centimetres shorter than him; if his spiking was considered bad, mine would be considered hopeless.
