Spread the Love – August 2016

My mum noticed that I had many photography equipment lying around and she packed some space at the shelf previously used to put Luckie’s stuff for me to store things.

Gilbert had a free movie ticket as one of his colleagues fell sick and could not go. He even picked me up to go over to Lido together. I stopped him from sending me home after that and I actually made it home earlier than him. It would take him double the time if he were to give me a lift home.

During the re-shoot with Angie at her place, she cooked dinner for both her new social media manager, Mary, and me. It was great to be given a treat by someone of a high status who had cooked personally for us. In fact, Angie had arranged the shoot such that I would gain more exposure for Mary would be capturing the behind-the-scene photographs – if Mary were to use them on her publication.

Weitat arranged around three sessions of volleyball games at Yusof Ishak Secondary School and sent me home twice. During the last session, we had dinner at Clementi and I was able to go home by myself since the coffee shop was quite near to the train station. Alas, he was very concerned if I could catch the last train and I felt very touched. Alas, I could finally feel less guilty by not troubling him. After one of the games, our favourite auntie footed the bill for our supper at a coffee shop in Bukit Gombak, which made me feel very bad since there were quite a number of us. Jingjie bought many bottles of greentea for one of the sessions and shared with us generously.

As I was asking my elder brother about using HDMI cable to replace VGA cable for my computer, he told me he had a spare one. When he came back to my house, he actually remembered bringing it along.

My hairdresser endured another last-minute booking from me as I was about to go for reservist. As usual, she was not pissed off. Anyway, she charged me the same price since twenty years ago and she actually needed not take my business.

During reservist, the drivers Fabian, Melvin and Kenneth gave us free rides that had reduced the amount of time and energy used in travelling. I made a new friend, Teck Hui, a social worker, who gave me a treat on the second day.

Spread the Love – July 2016

Letian organised a baby shower his newborn and invited Tze Khit, Daoxiong and I. After that, Tze Khit gave me a lift to the nearest MRT even though he was running late for his appointment.

Gilbert brought me to the Fitness First gym at 100AM again. He managed to push me to do some real workout with the gym equipment and then a swim at the pool.

Yaozhong spent quite some time to go through computer’s component at Sim Lim Square, creating a shopping list for my new system. Not every friend would spend the effort and time when he was busy with his life.

I had a photoshoot with Jolene at Gold’s Gym The Strategy. I was glad that Bobby had suggested the outlet or otherwise, I might have used one of the two outlets in Tanjong Pagar, which was much smaller and the result would not be so good. Jolene was one of the best models I had worked with in terms of her attitude and intelligent. I was mesmerized by her appreciation for every single thing I did and said.

Weitat organised three volleyball games at Yusof Ishak Secondary School. Even though he had grumbled about the tedious job, he sacrificed himself, knowing nobody else could do better than him due to his connection with all the small groups of players. For the first game, Weitat had to rush off immediately as he had a plane to catch and Jingjie gave me a lift at Clementi MRT station after our supper. I was glad that he had opened out and shared some of his troubles with me. However, I had to rush off to catch my last train and thus could not accompany him longer at the car park to chat. Anyway, “black bean” uncle and auntie gave us a treat for the drinks again. For the next two volleyball games, Weitat gave me a lift home as usual and I didn’t stop him for the last trains were probably gone.

After Shuh broke up with me, Olivia and Stephanie gave me some cooling time before contacting me about a week later to show me concern. It was very sweet of them.

Justine was another sweet angel who had been texting me to show her concern after I posted any new Facebook status. She could be blunt and fierce, but she always spoke with a kind intention.

I visited Wanling at her place and she cooked lunch for both of us. Candy gave me a lift to the MRT station in the evening. A week later, Gilbert and I went over as well and we had a more splendid dinner.

Spread the Love – June 2016

When I was at Angie’s gallery, even though she was very busy with her customers, she took time to come over personally to pass me my cheque.

Weitat organised two volleyball sessions at Yusok Ishak Secondary School. As usual, he also took the trouble to give me a lift home after supper even though we were all tired.

Shujuan had a meet-up with me. She actually got attached days before that and I appreciated her friendship that she had not forgotten me. It was rare for friends to ask me out just to chill up and not trying to sell me anything.

Gilbert brought me to Fitness First and guided me on training. Without him pushing me, I would be very lazy to do my occasional work out.

Spread the Love – May 2016

During the interior shoot with Rashi, her mum served me with treats. It was a very kind gesture.

I had a portrait shoot session with Marjorie and I was glad that she trusted me with the planning and she was even generous enough to engage a professional hair and makeup artist as well. I appreciated such clients for their generosity and their drive to get better photographs.

When my sister-in-law informed us of Luckie’s second operation within less than two months for his second slip disc problem, I thought she was joking. Since they had already poured in 10 grand of fund for his first surgery, I did not expect them to save him for the second time. They were actually planning to have a baby this year but they gave up since their saving was drained. Some people would say that giving birth in Singapore was not expensive but they did not factor in many small details. Most importantly, if you were to give birth to a child and not able to supply him/her with the necessities to equip them for the future, I would rather you give up the thought of having a baby just for the sake of having one.

I met my best client ever. She was Angie who helped people to design picture frames that fit the interior. Her clients consisted of many expats and she was definitely very wealthy. She was elegant, energetic, inspiring, kind, generous, appreciating and helpful. During my first shoot with her, she suddenly enlightened me on a wrong use of word for one of my lengthy worded portrait photoshoot albums. I supposed she had gone through my entire website and she told me she appreciated my writing and I supposed she could tell my sincerity from my writing.

My volleyball gang and I had a beach volleyball outing on one of the Sundays and Tze Khit was finally able to join us. He drove over to my place to pick me up and thus saving me a lot of trouble even though Weitat and Jingjie would definitely try to pick me up near Vivocity as well. I was still owing lots of conveniency to the drivers at this point of time and at times, I felt useless.

Spread the Love – April 2016

While babysitting Luckie over my elder brother’s house during weekdays, I was well taken care of with food stocking up inside the refrigerator and cupboard for lunch. My elder brother bought dinner most of the time.

Letian had a housewarming gathering for Tze Khit, Daoxiong and I. After that, Tze Khit gave me a ride home in his convertible car from Punggol even though he could have gone straight home.

I finally had a meet-up with David and he gave me a coffee treat.

Spread the Love – March 2016

I was invited to a furniture exhibition to help BoConcept to capture the interior design of their booth and the guests who dropped by. Chloe, How Jian and Aaron played good hosts. I also learned more about furniture from them.

I had photoshoots with Beverley and Rachel Liew separately and both of the interaction with them were awesome. I was thankful for the trust they had placed in me.

It was the beginning of a nightmare when Luckie had his first slip disc on the lower back. My sister-in-law paid for his surgery, which amounted to near ten grands.

Spread the Love – February 2016

After my elder brother moved to his new house, he took along most of the essential stuff but left many things behind. Somehow, my mum moved into the room almost immediately together with some of her belonging. I couldn’t stand the mess and it was actually very dusty. Therefore, I tried to pack the stuffs and put them into boxes and plastic bags. Then, Gilbert gave me a lift over to Marsiling.

I had a one-day low key reservist. It was, in fact, more of a national education tour. We were ferried to the city area and had to walk under the torching sun to complete some tasks. As usual, Fabian was the hero who picked Terry and I up from the nearest MRT station and dropped us at Hougang MRT after the end of the ICT.

On the day of my elder brother’s housewarming for a few close relatives, we had dinner at a nearby coffee shop. “We” ordered some expensive seafood dishes and my uncle paid for the meal. It was a guilty meal. I simply don’t have a stomach to fill any expensive food and I didn’t like any food with shell or tiny bones.

Spread the Love – January 2016

For Jun’s photoshoot, Cherie and Ahpa helped me out as assistants. Although my lighting equipment did fall during the shoot, I was glad that I had two assistants to prevent more falling.

I had a short meet-up with Guoxin and Kachua and Guoxin treated me to the drinks again.

One of my previous corporate clients, Misys, returned to me for their event shoot. I appreciated them for liking my work that they approached me again. I managed to get an even more fabulous event portfolio even though I didn’t have time to upload them.

I had a swim with Gilbert and Wanling at YMCA. Besides chauffeuring us over to YMCA, he drove over to pick Shuh up to have dinner together. I felt bad for he had to pay for the petrol and it was tiring to drive.

At the end of the gathering with my group of volunteer friends, Ahpa passed me a singlet that she bought during her holidays. It was to reciprocate for the MacDonald’s treat that I gave her the night before the shoot with Jun. I even thought that supper was a miserable treat for her help.

Spread the Love – December 2015

I made my second trip to the National Gallery Singapore just to accompany Gilbert. He insisted on giving me a good treat besides sending me to and fro my place. He always made excuses to pay for the bill because he knew I was not doing very well. I could have walked over to his office before the trip but he thought it was raining and thus more convenient to drive over instead. I was not sure if that would trigger an extra extortion from the bloody ERP system to his cashcard or he could have skipped all ERP system along the route to our venue.

I accompanied Jonathan Siah to look at a printer and then to the clinic. Before going home, he gave me a treat at Tiong Bahru Market before dropping me near my house.

I had breakfast with my mum and auntie Chwee Lian before going to her eldest son’s house for an interior shoot. Auntie Chwee Lian insisted in giving us a treat at the market.

At the end of an event shoot for my client, Eunice Seah, the couple gave me a lift to the nearest MRT station. Even though the distance was probably less than 500 metres away, it was raining.

Weitat organised and booked indoor volleyball games twice at OCBC arena. If it was not because of him, we would not be able to gather and play the game. It was not just about the money (court fee of $60) but also the trouble. He also took the trouble to give me a lift home as usual.

After one of the volleyball game sessions, we had our dinner at Newton Circle. Our favourite uncle and auntie insisted in giving everyone a treat at the end of the dinner. It was a very expensive meal for two people to foot but they would fight over the bill with us every time without fail, making us feel very guilty.

For my photoshoot with Kaijun, Ahpa came down specially from Johor Bahru to lend a hand, partly because it was a sexy boudoir shoot that I would need a female escort to make the model feel safer. Cherie was another angel who approached me to become my assistant just a day before the shoot. I was also thankful to Kaijun for approaching and trusting me as well. Despite things did not go as planned because our planned venue was cornered off by the police and that the sun was giving me headaches by the time we reached the beach, I had fun working with three of them. My lighting equipment fell though.

My December 2015 was filled with love from many good people.

Spread the Love – November 2015

Every November, I was overwhelmed by love because it was my birthday month. It was good to receive greeting messages from friends for it was a good chance to catch up with them. Of course, I was unable to list down everyone’s name but I was very thankful to them for bothering to message me.

My younger brother did the arrangement for a feast at CHIJMES and also bought me a cake.

Gilbert and I had our birthday celebration held together as usual. However, Gilbert did all the hard work to book a staycation at Siloso Beach Resort and also bought all the necessary items.
