The morning disaster started but I had already resigned to fate and my promise. My stomach was unwell. Afni was late due to her daughter and I struggled alone like usual at Bukit Batok in the early morning. It was still better than last Thursday though. Afni had more initiative and thus, lightened my burden.
She was bothered by work and I grumbled too about mine. Money could never buy the lost of my happiness. We dined in Clementi campus for lunch.
Back in office, my initial plan was to work out the list of my projects done for Diana to write a recommendation letter for me so that I could go for job interview soon, however, I checked my phone to see my usual same detest.
I thought it was not so bad after all and decided to step into the class earlier but it turned out more than half of them were there. Instead of doing my stuffs while babysitting them, I spent most of the time on debugging for their projects. They would never realise for now that having to debug alien’s coding was tougher than debugging own’s coding.
The class dragged on and when I reached office, Mei Hoe was not around and thus, I could not go for ice-kachang near my place with her, which she wanted to have it with me since long ago. There was exchanges of words between Joy, Weitat and I and I soon realised I was quite late for my planned jog since the trekking at Bukit Timah Hill for the next day was cancelled. I walked alone to the MRT station to squeeze with all the impolite people.
Reaching home after 6pm was a turn-off. I started up my station as usual to clear emails while I hesitated whether to leave my house in the raining day. Alas, I set off at around 7.15pm, setting the record for the latest time I departed for jog.
Timing for first trip was satisfactory. Marina Barrage was quite empty except for a couple of groups of youngsters making noises. I gave up chasing the 8.15pm bus since I doubted resting for fifteen minutes alone was enough to make my return trip. Before I set off at 8.45pm, I realised the cars parking at the main entrance were moving off and a group of people, probably ministers or some big shots, started boarding the cars.
I was quite disappointed that I could not break the eighteen minutes timing on the return trip, having to lag behind for a few seconds. Nevertheless, I had broken my own record again.
