I slept Early

[Tuesday, 8 February, 2011]

I finally achieved sleeping before 2am because I had a bottle of alcohol hours before that.

I woke up after 9am and lazed around. After sharing with my elder brother about some points in PowerPoint Slides, I went to the office at noon.

I started doing administration work for the tuition agency, followed by drafting an email to my ex colleagues to greet them. I was distracted somehow and my English used was terrible.

Mike and I started doing area cleaning after 4pm until near 6pm before we walked to Burger King for early dinner.

Back at home, I was irritated by an SMS spam. An email to IDA resulted a disappointing reply a few days later to actually show that mobile phone spamming in Singapore is in fact generally legal.

I spent the rest of the night working on SEO for the tuition agency.

Met Up with Wanling Again

[Tuesday, 1 February, 2011]

I spent hours helping Joanna with her Java project. Then, I continued with SEO until 6am.

My mum was playing with Lucky and she was practically screaming out the commands at 9am to wake me up. Wanling dropped me an SMS to postpone our outing. I woke up at 2pm eventually.

When Joanna tried to ask me for help again, I rejected her because I could not spend any more time to help her in her school assignment instead of doing my own work. My work was definitely more crucial and if I were to duplicate myself ten times, I would not be able to complete my work any time soon. I continued with SEO for the tuition agency until Wanling suddenly messaged me that she was available near 5pm.

I met up with her at The Central. She looked very tired. We went to one of the Japanese restaurants but I did not take any food since I took my lunch very late. After that, we strolled over to Liang Court and walked around. The shop for ladies, La Lu, impressed me with the interior European design. Then, we proceeded to shop at the Japanese supermarket before going back to The Central.

I wanted to send Wanling home by bus but I did not bring my laptop along and I knew I would waste a lot of time on the way back. I took bus 145 to Amara hotel and joined my family at Burger King. However, my stomach was still bloated and I did not order anything.

Back at home, I continued with my SEO work. I filled my stomach with some sushi my younger brother had purchased earlier on.

Tze Khit and Bobby’s Visit to the Office

[Wednesday, 12 January, 2011]

I had some nasty hours working on the tuition agency website, trying to do a more presentable way to stop duplicate tutor registration. It was after 4am and I went to bed.

At noon, I woke up and started clearing my desktop and Gmail task list. I took some time to blog and it started to rain. Mike came over to Tanjong Pagar and we packeted Burger King before taking a cab over to the office. Before I could start eat my burger, I saw a missed call from Tze Khit and he told me he would be dropping by with Bobby in a while. We had some chat before they left. I was glad that they were impressed with our office’s design.

It took me hours to continue with my work that I had stopped before going to bed. It did not turn out good for the script seemed to be undergoing frequent mood swing more than anyone could expect. In the end, I took the easy way out.

Mike started his Starcraft 2 again while I worked on SEO after he gave me a list of websites that could help to draw myself nearer to Google. We left the office at 10pm and I continued with work at home.

Cheapo Took My Old Umbrella

[Friday, 7 January, 2011]

I started my day working on the new “Personal Tutors Needed” page for the tuition agency. I dozed off many times on the bed and went to sleep at 4.30am.

I woke up after 10am and took the noodle cooked by my mum. I continued working on the tuition agency website while chatting with my younger brother.

After 1pm, I went to the office under the dripping sky water. I was extremely unmotivated by the weather. I did some Facebook marketing before Mike wanted to leave at 4pm to try our luck for the “Dou Hua You Tiao” stall again. It was, however, closed as usual.

We took our meal at Burger King at the Amara Hotel, which was my lunch in fact. Mike went for his dental appointment while I went home. Upon putting down my bag, I realised my umbrella was missing and I went straight to the Burger King but despite the short interval, I could not find it. The staff was helpful but not useful enough.

I was gloomy for the umbrella was from my ex colleagues in the web solution company and it had accompanied me for years.

I spent the rest of the night working on SEO for the tuition agency.

Home Alone Day Two

[Friday, 24 December, 2010]

Eileen messaged me in MSN to solve her Microsoft Word issue and thus I did not go to bed early as planned. My giddiness worsened and I went to bed at 3.30am eventually.

Mike woke me up a few times with his SMSes and I finally got up after 1pm. It was low productive day for me at home in my illness. I spent the most efficient time on photo editing. I heated up the “tang yuan” from the fridge as my late lunch.

I started working in the late afternoon and rewarded myself with a meal from Burger King near 8pm. A few minutes after I started eating, Lucky had finished his dinner and emptied his waste in the kitchen for me to clear.

After the movie on channel 5, Transporter 3, ended, I brought Lucky down for a walk before I started blogging.

Meeting Off, Stuck at the Gym for Work

[Monday, 25 October, 2010]

As usual, I spent the morning working on my tuition website and then blogging. I went to sleep after 7am.

Lucky woke me up in the afternoon. My elder brother went down for his leg treatment again and thus I had to take care of Lucky by myself for an hour.

A guy from Starhub, Ari, called me regarding the request for voucher for my renewal of mobile phone plan. He insisted that Starhub could only give me at most a hundred dollar voucher and I was quite pissed off. I got him to call me back the next day so that I could discuss with my younger brother as we had intention to switch over to Singtel for Starhub’s reception was ridiculous.

I wanted to go down to the gym earlier but I had some stuffs to sort out with my younger brother regarding the tuition agency. Since he was coming home, I waited for him.

I left home at around 7.30pm, so that I would be early for the meeting with Andrew and Letian. I was quite shocked that none of them was around there since I thought they would be there for training before the meeting. I waited until it passed 8pm, I SMSed Letian who did not reply me. Later on, I tried contacting Andrew and he told me the meeting was cancelled for Letian was sick. I was at a lost suddenly for waiting down there over nothing.

Tze Khit stopped me from leaving since he had a poster for me to edit. He accompanied me to Burger King where I grabbed my dinner and helped Wilson to get a meal too. Tze Khit insisted to treat me for the dinner but I used his fifty dollars note to foot the bill before taking out my money from my wallet to return to him together with the change. He was too generous to check the sum.

We went back to the gym soon and I started having my dinner. The new mushroom chicken tasted quite nice at the first bite but I craved for the normal chicken burger instead.

I started working with Tze Khit and Bobby. They wanted to make changes to my previous design with all the updated stuffs. It was an extremely tough night for me as they were trying hard to fight against time and poured me with multiple instructions at one time before I could finish even a step. There were numerous trial and errors to exhaust my brain and fingers, especially when I was using the laptop’s mouse pad.

Right before midnight, when it was almost done, while waiting for them to surf the net for photos, I rushed to the toilet as I had diarrhoea. The rest of them left the gym soon.

One Star Kayak Course Day One

[Saturday, 18 September, 2010]

My family went to the prata shop with Lucky. We wanted to packet some prata home but we managed to find an empty table at the outside, and thus we changed our minds. At first, everyone wanted to take a single prata because of the heatiness but we ended up taking two slices each. We went to the ATM machines after the supper. While we were going home, we played catching with Lucky.

I went to bed at 2.30am but could not doze off. The last time I checked my clock was 4am.

I woke up at around 10am and started packing up for the kayak course. My younger brother and I took bus 70 to the stop after Nicoll Highway and walked to Stadium MRT station. It was our virgin visit. I went to the toilet and was shocked that the lock was spoilt, which was too soon for a new MRT station.

After meeting up with most of the people for the kayak course, we walked towards our destination along the highway. The kayak course was beyond my expectation. I thought it would be a short theory before we would get to kayak around, but it was meant to be a more professional one. Since everyone, including the coach, Kelvin, were nice people, my brother and I enjoyed a lot. We started off with some theory before moving off. I met Caiping who was with a group of youngsters and I supposed it was her church event.

I was happy to get to kayak again after many years and it reminded me of the past when my volleyball gang and I went to Sentosa in a huge group. The kayak course included capsizing drill and simple swim test. We got to learn about technique to paddle well. Apart from them, I could never recall all the terms used. The toughest thing was to carry the kayaks. The course ended before 6pm. my brother and I did not shower. We walked to the bus-stop and took bus 196 home.

After reaching home, we hurried to open the toilet’s door as my mum had left Lucky inside after he vomited, peed and pooed continuously to cause dizziness to my mum. She even puked. My younger brother took his shower first and left the house to pick up his friend at the MRT station before he bought Burger King’s meal for my dinner. Together with his friend, we took Lucky down for a walk.

At 11pm, I was dead beat but the channel 8’s Andy Lau’s show about the warring states kept me alive.

Family Day at Sentosa Palawan Beach

[Sunday, 22 August, 2010]

I had a few outdated blog entries and thus I glued myself in front of the laptop until 5am despite having to wake up early. My younger brother woke me up after 9am and I was seeing stars as I got up and packed my stuffs.

We went to aunt’s house together with mum. Then, the four of us went to the Chinese temple to offer incense joss-sticks to our late family members. It was the first time I visited the temple after many years. After that, we went back to aunt’s house to eat and rest for a while before setting off to Harbourfront Centre. Since we were early, my younger brother went to get himself a pair of slippers.

I went to the toilet and Bianhong started calling me to feedback about the work I designed for his girlfriend’s birthday present. The reception was bad and it got cut off before I could make my way into the cubicle, but soon, he called back again. I did not want to tell him where I was since I did not want more causal questions. I hinted to him that I wanted to put down the phone but he was opposite to my usual sweet and short approach of handling things. My elder brother called me and I guessed he had arrived with his girlfriend, but I was too busy to switch over to entertain a second call before I could finish doing my business. After Bianhong put down the second call for nearly six minutes later, I checked my phone to see my younger brother’s SMS that he was waiting outside the toilet for me. A few seconds after I replied him, my mum who was beside him called me directly to deliver the same message. It was a totally bad start of the day.

The four of us went to meet up with the couple at the bus interchange and boarded the bus directly to Sentosa’s Beach Carpark. Since my mum and aunt wanted to collect their membership cards for the Resort World, my elder brother “deposited” his trolley besides the Sentosa membership sign up counter before we boarded the monorail to the Resort World station. It was my virgin visit there but since we were worried about the trolley, we did not walk around and started going back to the Beach station. Luckily, the trolley was still around.

We went to the Palawan beach and it was quiet despite it was already 2pm. The weather was hot and we started setting up the mini tentage. The volleyball was tempting and I missed the days I used to frequent the beach often with my volleyball gang. My younger brother started flying his mini kite bought in Europe and he got his feet blisters soon. After that, we decided to move over nearer to the sea since the breeze was strong over there. While my younger brother went to swim, my brother bought a normal kite on his way to 7-11 but it was a horrible experience. The kite was kind of weird and we could not fly it despite trying all ways to tie it. After wasting lots of time, we left the place in the late afternoon. On our way out, we got to play with some dogs.

We had our early dinner at Seah Lm food centre, which was right in front of the interchange. I took fried prawn mee bought from the extreme end besides the sugarcane drinks stall. I was disgusted at the stall owners for their attitude really sucked to the core just because they had good business to bother much. I was polite to them still, but I knew it was the last time I was going to buy food from them, and they were going to lose more customers soon.

After taking our dinner, my aunt left home by herself since she disliked staying out late. The rest of us went back to the same shop that my younger brother bought his new pair of slippers. My elder brother got himself one pair as well. Then, we went to Daiso but it was crowded and thus only my mum went in to get her candies. We went to the pet shop for a while and met Lionel. Finally, we went home.

It was already near 8am and everyone was exhausted. My mum wanted my elder brother to settle the turtles by the night since she wanted to start packing the kitchen once they were gone and be ready for Tuesday. However, my elder brother suggested doing it the next day, which boiled up my mum’s blood. She was so angry that she forbade us from getting a dog for she knew my elder brother would not take care of his pets for long with all the bad past records. We were all stunned by her stubbornness once again.

My brothers and I went for early supper at the Burger King together, leaving the two women at home since they were not eating. Hence, it was an unusual combination of the supper team. The restaurant was too cold and thus we did not stay for long.

Weird Day, Weird Friend

[Friday, 20 August, 2010]

Jade messaged me in MSN and I reminded her to remind me to sleep early, and thus I went to sleep after 3am right after she went offline.

I woke up before 9am and continued to lie around the bed. My mum made half boiled eggs, bread and milo for my breakfast. I went to the gym at 11am and that was one of the earliest times I went. I felt bad for not going down for the past four days when I was too engrossed with my work even though I did not make much progress. I was completely ruled by my sleepiness and almost blackout in the gym. After the workout I struggled on the chin-up bar for twenty pulls.

The bank salesman came over to settle Tze Khit’s credit card transaction. After that, we left the gym together with his friend. It was drizzling and thus he decided to dine at the new Japanese restaurant along the way, which was just a few metres away. They dragged me in but I did not take anything since I might be meeting Regina with her friend soon. When Regina finally replied me after 1am, I asked her what time she could make it to Vivocity and she replied a single word “soon”. I quickly rushed home and washed up.

I reached the destination at around 2pm and started walking around Daiso. I paid a visit to the pet shop and finally the arcade before I went to the concert area to boot up my laptop where the internet connection was slow. Nothing much could be done.

After 3pm, Regina finally SMSed me that she had reached but her replies were far too weird. I went down to find her at Toastbox and she treated me transparently. Together with her friend, we went to the Burger King in the most awkward atmosphere I had ever encountered, just like best friends turning into strangers out of a sudden. I knew it was a wrong choice to go out but I never knew what was going on.

We found a table at the Burger King immediately. She dragged her friend along to get food without saying anything to me. I lost my appetite. When they returned, she finally spoke up and asked me why I did not go and get my food but I merely shook my head. Her friend began to astonish me with his outspoken character, being creative and blunt, he had endless examples to compare things, and sometimes quite offensive. I was quite amazed with some of his jokes in my lostness and sleepiness. Sitting right opposite them, I felt awkward when Regina was far too quiet and thus I kept my eyes at the next table at the kids.

After eating, Regina started taking her work out. I thought she was going to start doing her revision the entire day there until her friend discouraged her. When he started asking her to choose over going to his or her house, I was quite stunned until he told me they were friends since primary six. His suggestion to catch a movie stunned me once again for I thought he was going to revise with her together after our lunch or meet-up. I finally got a chance to ask him what was wrong with Regina when we were at the toilet, and he assured me that she was quiet for she did not want him to bully her more. So much for his crappy jokes, I thought it was true, but still, she behaved far too weird.

As we walked around the shopping mall, her friend pulled her hair and held them in the most annoying way often. Whenever he put his hand over her shoulder, she snapped the fingers away immediately but she did not look angry at all. I was amazed over her tolerance and their closeness. When he mentioned about how lousy her boyfriend was, I was totally lost for I thought she was just having a weird hard crush on a wrong person but was still in the safe zone. I did not try to correct him since he definitely knew more than me and it seemed that I did not have any reason to talk.

They planned to go to Sengkang and I had no idea what they had in mind but I remembered her crush was staying there. It was totally not a good idea to join them since things were going too weird for me and that I had many work on hand, moreover, I was going to view dog with my younger brother in the evening.

We stopped by the Candy Empire where she hesitated over getting some candies. I had a hard time resisting myself to tell her to grab them all. Her friend solved her problem by asking her to look at her wallet to see what she could afford. The shop was a good babe attraction.

When they were entering the train’s entrance, I bid them goodbye. As they were going down the escalator, he was still pulling her hair and I saluted to her tolerance once again.

After reaching home at around 5pm, my mum packeted dinner for me and I dozed off while waiting for my younger brother to return. He got home around two hours later to tell me and we waited for a while for the seller to send the dogs’ pictures over. As the seller was too demanding over the ugly dogs, we decided not to give up the viewing with our budget.

I started working on Bianhong’s photos. Though my mind was still filled with blankness from the day’s weird encounter, I was able to make good progress with the design work.

Supposed to Go Out

[Sunday, 6 June, 2010]

I became a good boy and started sleeping at around 3am, which was only an hour later than when I was at Zaki’s place.

My brunch was taken at Burger King, enjoying the $4.95 meal with my elder brother and his girlfriend.

I was waiting for Hirman’s reply whether he wanted to go for a swim or movie but he stopped suddenly. Since he was rushing his work for the next day’s submission, I did not bother him.
