Filing of Income Tax

[Wednesday, 14 April, 2010]

After consolidating all the remittance advices from ITE for the previous year, adding up the fund that I had accumulated from them, I tried to file my income tax with the details and realised the site was on maintenance and the weird was that it was on daily basis. I joined my elder brother in his ghost show for an episode before dozing off.

I finally got to file my income tax in the afternoon after waking up. I was quite disappointed for the increased amount of studies relief would only start next year and thus, I could only exempt $3500 from my total income for my previous year’s course fee.

It was much of a less efficient day again, which I started working on my portfolio.

The Scanner was Working

[Tuesday, 13 April, 2010]

Tuesday morning, I started joining my elder brother in an English ghost show, which had a few seasons, and I believed I would not follow on. It did rain but the temperate rose soon.

I spent the day switching between my chair and bed, trying hard to work on Facebook marketing. In the evening, I started planning for my online portfolio.

Then, I asked my elder brother for the location of the scanner. It was a multi-purpose printer cum scanner and photocopier, which only the scanner seemed to be working as of last used. We found it at one of the junk areas in my house near the kitchen. I spent quite some time in downloading the driver and I was excited that it worked. I started scanning my receipts obtained during my degree course so as to file for income tax relief.

Bad Warm Weather

The weather has been so weird that I cannot fully concentrate on my work. The warmness forces sweat out of the spores on my skin. Sometimes, I do not even want to lean my back on anything so that the sweat will not stain the chair, wall or even my mattress. It is difficult to get to sleep unless I am very sleepy. My mum has to put up with the absence of air-conditioner because the one inside our room is spoiled.

Sometimes I wonder if anyone would melt in Singapore, or probably, dies of heat stroke.

Every now and then, the sky turns gray like now, threatening to rain. Thus, my plan to jog to Marina Barrage always foils despite I have always been hesitating to proceed since I’m quite wary of my knees’ conditions as well. Even if it rains, the wind is weak and the air that intrudes through my windows is warm.

I cannot File my Income Tax

Our System is currently unavailable due to technical maintenance. The daily maintenance is carried out from 2am to 6am (SGT) on Mondays to Saturdays and 2am to 830am (SGT) on Sundays. Please try again later. Thank you for your understanding.

Technical maintenance everyday in the early morning? The government is probably trying to encourage all Singaporeans to sleep early. Poor web maintenance team though.

Collection of Graduation Gown and Weiwen’s House Visiting

[Sunday, 11 April, 2010]

I started Sunday morning with preparation of my new website by thinking of the good and available domain names. The long struggle refused me to bed.

I woke up early in the Sunday morning to collect my graduation gown. Taking train all the way to Potong Pasir was quite a hassle to me. As indicated on the photo studio’s map, I thought it was a standalone building and I missed it by taking the side lane instead of the main road. It was a terrible mistake under the hot sun.

It turned out that the studio was in a shophouse, which was much nearer to the Expressway. The studio was ready to make big bucks since I could see that many universities had engaged them. A lady attended to me after I paid the money. I was quite taken aback when she persuaded me to place deposit for taking up a photoshoot package with them. In fact, I had never thought of taking any photo for the time being, especially when my younger brother was not in Singapore yet. The problem was that she told me the fifty dollars discount offer was only available for that day. I called my brother and finally, decided not to take up the offer after more than ten minutes.

I went to meet my family at Tanjong Pagar MRT station where we proceeded to Ah Moy Street for the delicious lor mee. My mum wanted to go to my aunt’s house at Kim Tian Road and we accompanied her to Maxwell Road but the road was blocked and buses were forced to reroute. I accompanied my mum to the bus-stop besides the CK department before walking home by myself. I was shocked when I noticed the road between the field and the Chinese temple was blocked for the India event. I had to travel further up in order to cross the road, jay-walking in front of the policemen since no car could access there.

It was almost an hour of rest at home before I set off together with my brother and his girlfriend to Weiwen’s house at Tanglin Halt for his baby’s full month celebration. He stayed very near to Commonwealth MRT and the three of us were envious of the good location of the forty storey high new flat. Since the baby girl was too young, my brother and I enjoyed playing with the emotional dog more. He was trapped inside a room because of the crowd.

We took some rest at home and I dozed off before we went down to the Burger King with my mum. I tried the tendered chicken burger and it totally sucked. It reminded me a bit of KFC’s zinger burger but the taste was not as nice and it had lots of fats for me to chew on disgustingly.

Dinner at RSYC and Magdalene Birthday Celebration at Marina Barrage

[Friday, 9 April, 2010]
I spent my Friday on the configuration and marketing of my http://www.lifeissobeautiful.com domain.
As I was going to prepare to leave my house for phototaking at the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club (RSYC), the conversation with Joy stalled some time. I was slow somehow and before I realised, time had passed so quickly that I knew I would be late.
The stopped rain suddenly returned more fiercely than before. I kept my pace slow but the water still managed to get into my shoes to kiss my socks wet. I was at the most frustrated mood waiting at the bus-stop but it took more than twenty minutes for bus 30 to arrive. As expected, due to the slow bus, more passengers boarded and alighted and thus delayed the journey a lot more.
Halfway through the journey, the rain stopped completely. I alighted after the junction near the NUS prata shop. I almost took the wrong direction towards Clementi Wood but decided to walk back to the junction. It was a long way towards the RSYC.
I was late for almost an hour but I was not the latest. The ambience was nice and I regretted not setting off earlier. I received a trophy from Diana for contribution in the SYOG volunteer training project.
After the dinner, I took jingkun’s car and he forgot that I wanted to go home to get my wetted socks changed before joining the rest of them at Marina Barrage. He took the highway straight to ECP and then took the wrong exit. He took the wrong again and we landed up at PIE near Aljunied.
After reaching Marina Barrage, we started changing and I wore my PJC t-shirt with a FBT shorts. The rest of them were in school uniforms. We started celebrating for Magdalene and made noises at the bridge.

http://www.lifeissobeautiful.com is up

[Thursday, 8 April, 2010]
I spent a couple of hours helping Xiao Mei with her web stuffs before starting to watch soccer with my brother. I wanted to sleep early but the early Manchester United two goals kept me interested in the match. However, into half time, I started dozing off.
In the afternoon, I messaged my ex colleagues to check out about web design prices but not everyone replied me. I did not have satisfactory answers except from Russell.
I had a game of Command and Conquer with my elder brother and it took us less than forty minutes to take the computers down on a four on four game.
In the late evening, I finally purchased the domain name http://www.lifeissobeautiful.com. It took me some time to configure it to continue to host under blogger. Next was Facebook marketing.
