Powerful Spike

Last Friday’s volleyball session was another memorable night.

We actually wanted to go out for a quick bite before the game but the pouring raining halted us. I was so hungry that I rushed down to the canteen to grab some sandwiches and luckily the auntie was still around. She handed me a difficult task of troubleshooting her mobile phone’s alarm clock which was set in Chinese. I kept my fingers crossed and felt uncomfortable throughout the night since I did not test it.

We started setting up the net right after work and this time I did not get any sleep again. We began on our usual two on two game and somehow the combination of Weitat and I failed to overcome Mingfa and Jingkun’s team spirit. However, I was able to get myself warmed up through the game.

My index finger on my right hand had yet to recover fully and there was an additional sprain on one of my toes out of nowhere since a few days before.

We continued with free spike and I did not do really well but during the actual game, I was quite impressed with myself. It had been very long since I did a powerful bashing slap on the ball to cut through the air in thundering sound. There were not many chances for me to keep the form going but at least I cherished the remaining ones. I made another satisfying attempt later with good timing and posture, and even wrapped the ball splendidly on my palm to force the ball down using wrist strength.

My team consisting of Mingfa, Wilson, Joel, Darius and Jingkun was a formidable squad. Of all, Wilson did remarkably well with his overall performance especially with his blocking. Eventually, we lost the last game somehow.

I left home by myself after that.

少年杨家将 – 二十年

Call Me, But I won’t Pick Up – this line must be familiar if you have been observing my MSN nick regularly.
More than one month ago, I was using it.
I suppose some people were thinking that I was in a foul mood and wished not to answer any call.
I actually changed my ringtone and I wanted to hear the beautiful song. If anyone were to call me, it would be playing; but if I were to accept the call, the song would stop.
You have to be an emotional person to appreciate it though.

35 Down after a Week, 35 More to Go

It was tiring to the brain and body. My eyes were strained and my left arm almost got numb many times after placing it on the arm rest when I was too engrossed. Thousands and thousands of switching tabs, at least they proved that I could work faster by using this method.

Perhaps, only people who are doing the job could feel the pain; the rest would just jeer, “Hey why are you taking your own sweet time? Are you having honeymoon?”

I hate owing people work.

Lousy but Charming Beach Outing

Beach on Sunday was a total waste of time until I saw an angelic smile.

We were forced to leave with an approaching dark and magnanimous cloud after simply a lost game; waiting by the side of the court proved meaningless finally. We witnessed ships disappearing at the far side of the sea within minutes and even the two dragon boats quite near us vanished within some seconds.

I was sitting inside Darius’ car in both trips and could feel the difference of the cosiness as compared to other cars; nevertheless, I would rather buy a cheaper car in future.

We had dinner at Dian Xiao Er at Vivocity and it rubbed a big hole on my pocket. The food was nice but I would make it a point that such luxuries food should be kept away until one day when I strike it rich.

In the Olympic mood, nobody was really keen in loitering around the shopping centre and the crowd dispersed after dinner. Mingfa gave me a ride me home in his sister’s car together with Weitat and Mingli.

I started switching on the television to support the Singapore table tennis girls but I was disappointed.

September

Can’t wait for September to end, yet fear for its coming.

For the second time in my entire life, I’m waiting so hard for the beginning of October, or rather, ending of September. The first time was when ORD date was near; this time, I can’t wait to continue with my dreams.

Since four years ago, it has been a dread whenever September approaches. The bravery was enough to call for a celebration at first but time and distance have taken the courage away.

Without the shiny armour, how much is the rate of success? Can’t seem to get the iron off my mind, I concede to defeat.

I feel lost; sitting back or taking actions may stir up my life.

Betray of Trust

People who give away friends’ numbers to their other friends who are strangers without seeking permission are insensible; perhaps, you can consider it as betrayal of trust.

If you have a relative or friend who works as insurance agent, who proclaim themselves as “financial planner”, do not assume your friends want entertainments from him.

How would you feel if you receive calls from those agents out of nowhere? It is sick to waste even ten seconds of life finding out the motive of the irritating caller.

Do not do what you do not want others to do to you.

My elder brother is a financial planner as well and I do not give any friend’s number to him.

(Only song but louder)

Southern Ridges Trip 2

I made my second trip down to Southern Ridges for the second time on last Saturday morning. It was a trip organised by Gilbert since more than a month ago. Initially I felt the stress of works piling up and thus, quite regretting promising him to go.

It started raining while I was waiting for them at the starting point. It was good to see Yong, June and Sherlyn once again. We started sitting at the top of the stairs until a SMRT staff came over to ask us to go further down to get out of the camera’s sight, which was quite weird.

As the rain stopped, we began our journey and this time, Gilbert and I made sure that we would not make any unnecessary detour like the previous time. I was extremely tired after the previous night’s volleyball and I my legs were weak upon the start. Since we were walking at a much faster pace, I was quite worried for the other three of them not able to fully enjoy the sceneries.

We met up with another Gilbert’s friend, Charles, at the Henderson Waves, and together, we proceeded on the same track like the previous time. At the moment we reached Hort Park, Gilbert was not feeling well and we took a little rest. Gilbert insisted to proceed on with his plan and thus we pushed westward, over Canopy Walk before making a final rest. Then, we made sure we took the correct path down the end of the Science Park where we took the bus to Buona Vista. We took only three hours to conquer the Southern Ridges this time.

We transited to bus 100 back to Vivocity, where we had a concussion one by one, and as usual, I took the lead. Sherlyn was wide awake throughout though and Charles got alighted somewhere to go home. The rest of us had our lunch at Seah Lm Food Centre and I had the usual chicken rice. Yong ordered a drinks from the fruit stall called “Power” for me. It was secret recipe and I could only taste mango but it was not bad.

After lunch, we walked towards Vivocity and soon, took Yong’s car back to his condominium at Geylang. We slacked at his place for quite some time before going down to the pool. The girls played PSP by the poolside. I was too weak to swim and the water started to freeze me. In a while, I was found enjoying at the Jacuzzi, which failed to satisfy me.

We moved over to the standalone Jacuzzi further away which seemed to be boiling. We had to lower down our body bit by bit to get used to the temperature. It was all comfort after we succeeded in submerging the entire body under neck. The next challenge was to enter the normal pool to taste the freezing water. My legs gave ways before reaching the destination and put my butts on the floor; the expanding and contracting of muscle in the process could have caused the weakness. Next, I enjoyed the feeling of dipping myself entirely into iced water. I made my last dip into the warm Jacuzzi before they called it off the day.

Back to the house, we called Rite Pizza to make orders for dinner. It was a splendid meal. Then, we continued to play PSP until around ten PM and Charles started sending Sherlyn, Gilbert and I home. I had some good chat with him on the way.
