Fixing the Bicycle

[Friday, 01 November, 2006]

My elder brother finally bought the stuffs to fix the old wheels of the bicycle. Being so ignorant, I decided to go out to the corridor to see him do the work.

I always thought he would change the entire tyres inclusive of the grooves outside and I never expected the tyres consisted more than two main parts. He took out two boxes of rubber tubes and I was quite puzzled at first until he dug out similar tubes in between the wheels and grooves.

He had not touched the bicycle for quite long for I remembered and that was probably why the tubes were not tight anymore and lost air fast. I remembered months ago, every time I used the bicycle I had to go to the petrol station to plump air.

The reason why he bought the new long air plump was because usual air plumps had different heads and were not strong enough. I realised I was never attentive enough to spot the differences by myself.

In fact, my brother had been dealing with bicycles since around secondary school that he knew so much. However, the cost of this knowledge and hands-on experiences was huge amount of money. For me, I was badly influenced by my mum that I would not even spend money on necessities sometimes that my life experience was a blank and dull paper.

Server Was Down

If you were trying to access all my websites this morning after midnight, it was down definitely. I was not sure when did it start but after 4am was back to square.
Of course, if you access my blog directly at http://sillydumb.blogspot.com, it will work eventually. However, it will take very long time for trying to access the files from Mike’s server before it gives up. As mentioned in my main site’s “About Me > Ask Me!” page, I still prefer people to link me directly at http://sillydumb.com because even I do not know when I will ever change my blog’s host.
Anyway, the problem with Mike’s server is he has a script installed which boosts the loading speed but however, requires too much system memory, which has caused the crashing of server every few weeks if he does not do anything. I am not sure if he is going to remove the script which takes up the memory.
This reminds me of my “Scheduled Downtime” image. I have asked Da Zhang to help me with it and I do not know when it will be completed for he has no holidays. After that, I will grow my skin thick and approach someone experienced with colouring using Photoshop.

I Am a Property Agent

[Thursday, 30 November, 2006]

Please contact me if anyone you know happens to need to sell/rent/buy any property, such as flat, private house, stall, coffee shop and warehouse.

Finally I got to sign the contract with the company and also got my name cards. It was after a meeting for my manager to announce some major projects coming up. Through the talks, I sensed the tension in the line where some hypocrites would push their luck in order to gain more money.

As my brain is damaged by SAF and still in the process of recovery, I am not sure if I can cope with the learning of so many new things. Lots of experiences are required. I may not be successful through this line but at least there are lots of things for me to learn.

I am now part of the company and am able to help people sell, buy or rent any property inclusive of houses, shops, warehouses and even the management of a coffee shop under the company’s name. Find me when you or your friend needs to buy or sell any property! I am your trustworthy property agent!

Happy Dent Chewing Gum

This is a very cute Indian advertisement which was sent to me by Radio James long time ago, which is a MUST-WATCH!
For those who are in my “forwarding” list, I should have forwarded to you months ago before I found this in Youtube. Anyway, if you are interested, you can always give me your email address so that I can send you those interesting emails.

Our Suntanning Trip

[Thursday, 30 November, 2006]

Vivi wanted a suntan at Sentosa and so we arranged to meet at 8am in the morning. I was quite down-lucked for the company’s meeting was on the same day.

I woke up at around 7am and gave numerous morning calls to her but she did not pick up. Then, I started to hesitate if I should even pack up for the trip. She called me around fifteen minutes later to claim that she was taking her bath and I proceeded on. However, just before I was leaving my house, I wanted to confirm the meeting place with her but she did not pick up my calls again. I got so frustrated after calling her around eight times and eventually went back to sleep. Finally she called me back and claimed that her phone was left inside the room.

Both of us were late eventually and I was later since she stayed nearer and had three direct buses to Harbourfront. I was unfortunately quite unlucky with the waiting of bus as well. She asked me where to meet and we agreed at the bus-stop but when I reached, she had crossed over to the food centre to get some drinks which added a little irritation to me.

But this day, somehow she was so sweet that I was swept over by her charm in no time. Or perhaps, I loved the quiet moments with her lying on my shoulder during the bus rides, the satisfactory feeling which resembled heaven. She behaved somehow more ladylike than usual and possessed these cheerful smiles which were missing for the past few months.

I realised the Islander Card’s prices had increased. She did not want to apply for the card and therefore I only paid for the three bucks entry fee. Just as I was sighing for the gone Blue Line bus after the blur staff had delayed us, the driver for a leaving Yellow Line bus questioned us. He thought we were new to the place and even advised us to take a map, and I kindly continued with the “game”. So, instead of Siloso beach, we went to Palawan beach.

The bird who welcomed us

The place was almost empty without the staffs. I walked her to the nearest washroom for her to get changed before we went to the bridge. It was the first time I ever stepped onto it and was glad that it was with a girl who had brightened my life. We started off with taking a picture of a bird and soon, realised there was no sun.

Splendid scenery!

The water and the shore

The trees in the drizzling rain

The sky began to grow dark fast but the colour tone of the surrounding was so beautiful including the water. After more capturing of the scenery, the down-pouring rain forced us to a shelter nearly. I saw a miracle as the dark clouds began to disperse and the rain eventually stopped within minutes. I was quite reluctant to leave the island as the sun had already smiled at us but she chose to leave.

Perhaps, she was right as all the delays had drawn the morning nearer to noon. We took the tram to the Beach Car Park and took Blue Line to the Visitor Departure Centre in which we transferred to the bus towards Harbourfront bus interchange.

It was not long before reaching my house and fast asleep comfortably in the hug of her. This afternoon, the alarm clock failed to get me up of the bed. She tried her best to pinch me but I rather bear the pain than to leave the paradise.

We went for lunch at the chicken rice shop where Wanting’s mum worked. It was only when we were about to leave, we saw Wanting there and thus could not talk to her. Both of us went to the same bus-stop where I caught my bus 197 immediately.

Not Everyone Deserves Help

It never pays to be kind and even though everyone knows this logic, sometimes we still get to be blindfolded by righteous.

We need to realise some people are not meant to be helped. It is not only that your efforts would be wasted totally, after effect might be endless troubles for you.

Some teenagers enjoy too much popularity that they rather ignore the hostile views from others; they do not know they subconsciously enjoy even indecent publicity and that they never want to reject.

You cannot do everything in this world; therefore, sometimes you need to be so clear minded that since it is impossible, do not waste your time, or you can perhaps contribute your time to the voluntary work instead.

Shifting of Web host For Many Sites

Ganz’s new web design was spotted and he was offered a one-year free web hosting in exchange for the template, which he had accepted.
However, since his new web host does not have sub domain, he can no longer lend me his web space. Since many of my websites are actually hosted under his old server, I have moved them over to Mike’s server. And for now I only have Irwin’s web space as backup.
Sites affected are:
http://kailun.sillydumb.com/
http://buayascript.sillydumb.com/
http://lovesick.sillydumb.com/
http://bmccvball.sillydumb.com/
http://smokeforwhat.com/smokeslayer/
http://fallenforpink.sillydumb.com/
http://foodwatch.sillydumb.com/
Thanks so much to Ganz for his kind hosting for the past years! Do visit his blog at and his very styled flash site at http://www.studiodeganz.com which stores so many of his great designing work over the past few years.
Note: He might be still transfering his files over to new web host at this point of time

I Am a Physiotherapist

[Wednesday, 29 September, 2006]

My mum and I were going to bed quite early and I started teaching her how to strengthen her legs. The frequenting to the physiotherapy centres in the past had equipped me with sufficient knowledge that I knew the exercises quite well.

Her knee caps were loose and I relayed the boring message from those helpless specialists to strengthen her thigh muscles.

I began with teaching her leg raise with the leg straightened and added some weights on top, which she could not hold it for long. Then, I remembered I had the thera-band, so that when both the legs were tied together with it, lifting one of the legs up would work on the muscle. Since the strenuousness was easily controlled by her, it would not injure her unlike adding any weight on top.

Everyone should start some daily workout to strengthen the thigh and back muscle since the knee caps and back are the most commonly injured body parts. Simple exercise like the half squat helps a lot.

I am unfortunate one of the victims but it certainly does everyone good that I can pass the message around and even offer assistance face to face.
