Met Firman at SIM

The second day suffering alone was more withstandable than the previous day. I loved students who were appreciative. I had my lunch with Daniel and his students followed us. The fish and chips at Clementi’s Botak Jones was filling but the frozen fish did not taste very good.

Weitat gave me a ride to SIM again. While I was going up the escalator, I saw a familiar figure, and he banged the folder on his hands on the wall. It had been ages since I last saw my army buddy, Firman. I accompanied him for his dinner instead of setting up my laptop at one of the study tables. I was quite envious of him, being able to purchase a HDB flat together with his mum.

After meeting up with Yuanle and Soon Siong for dinner, we tried to finish the tutorial fast. Soon Siong and I left the lab quite early again, while others stayed behind to do their project discussion.

Dinner at Redhill Market after Badminton

On Tuesday, my nightmare arrived again. I hated to be alone at certain places.

How would you feel if you were left alone to handle many immature people and have to take care of the equipments at the same time that you could not even go to the washroom for three hours?

It was not only tediousness, but also the enduring power to hold bladder. It was both physically and mentally draining.

I took care of the exhausting morning to begin on a better day, in my discomfort throat and cough, I pulled through the afternoon. The badminton session was a release of tension from my mind. I did not play well but I felt very comfortable with my diving skill, even though I created more bruises on my knees.

After that, I went to Redhill hawker centre to have dinner with Mei Hoe. Unfortunately, I was too thirsty that I could not take much food and Mei Hoe preferred to order many small dishes to share. In the end, she had a small plate of oyster while I had an awful plate of chicken chop.

Satisfactory Lesson

Monday began a tiring day. Mei Hoe accompanied me to stroll over to Clementi MRT where I boarded the bus to SIM. I did not bring my laptop along and I had to spend the time on my little notebook while waiting for Soon Siong to arrive.

It was an interesting evening for we tried our best to finish the tutorial question fast. In order not to waste time, we even volunteered to present. I felt good because I was able to do the work.

However, the night killed my health when a couple of classmates came back from their smoking break, introducing third hand smoking. After inhaling those tiny particles left over by the burnt cigarettes, I started having breathing difficulties.

FYP Discussion and Beach Volleyball at Clementi

I had my FYP meeting on Sunday afternoon at Plaza Singapura. Everyone was either on time or earlier. The discussion seemed to be more fruitful than other project meetings. We began at around 2.30pm and nobody had expected the meeting to end as late as 6pm.

It was not a pleasant evening for somehow I had gastric pain. I went home to have a little rest by sitting down in front of the computer before I started to pack up. I felt weak but decided not to miss out the fun with my friends. I got a bun at the cake shop nearest to Clementi MRT station and they certainly did well in conning customer by cutting the hot dog into half to create a false impression that there were two hot dogs in each bun.

My second time playing at Clementi beach volleyball court was one of the worst beach volleyball games that I had ever played. The lighting under the dark sky was my flaw as usual, and together with my weak body, it was obvious that I should have stayed at home to rest instead.

We went to NUS to clean ourselves up since Ruoci had to attend her project meeting. Then, we had dinner at the nearby nasi lemak shop. I had three pieces of plain roti prata. My guilt strike me again when Jingkun had to send Weitat home to fetch another car in order to send the rest of us home.

Unleash Fitness Gym Opening

I woke up early in the Saturday morning just like a normal weekday. I had curry for the second day before going Clementi Town Secondary School for volleyball. My legs did not follow my brain like usual but I had nice games.

I tried my younger brother’s Sony camera and the pictures were so much than the old Olympus I had been using clearer during dim light situation. I did not play much with the settings though.

After washing up, we went to look for Tze Khit at his gym on this opening day. He was the most successful person among my volleyball clique who strike his career path without his parents’ assistance.

We spent quite some time sitting around the gym while waiting for the rest to arrive. I was dehydrated for my body was too “heaty” and I did not take enough water during and after the volleyball game. The dehydration set my head spinning.

We had dinner at Clementi’s hawker centre. It had been some time since I last took the chicken cutlet, which was cheap and tasty. My mind was unclear and during the conversation, I could not even express myself.

First time on Chi Chiang’s Bike

After missing the chance to hop onto Chi Chiang’s bike last Thursday due to a sudden call up for a meeting, I finally made it exactly a week later.

He did not cut lanes as often as usual for he was afraid that I was not used to it. He maintained safety distance in between the vehicles and the feeling was great. The wind hitting on the helmet created sound, which innovated a drifting feeling. It was cool.

The negative thing about sitting on a bike was that it was difficult to communicate. We would be able to chitchat if we were inside a four-wheeled vehicle, and I would not feel as bad as if he was my chauffer.

Chi Chiang timed and the journey was around twelve minutes long, and I was stunned. He was quite worried about me being scared off by the speed of the bike, which was unnecessary.

Having to get home early was fantastic. My life seemed to come alive again and I felt so refreshed finally. If not for the weary body caused by the months of torments, my evening would be much more efficient.

Early Home from Tutorial

Yesterday, Weitat offered to send me to school again. Just as we were about to leave, Chi Chiang volunteered to give me a ride as well and I had to reject him. I felt so blessed with good friends who were willing to spend extra time just to make my life more comfortable.

I was more than an hour earlier for the lesson. The usual study tables at both sides of the lifts were filled and I moved to the opposite where I discovered the area where not as many people were desired. There was however, a group of students at the second table, making noises to distract me.

I was fed up with the Microsoft Word that hung on me and it was probably due to the windows updates I did before leaving the office. I had to switch to the 2003 version to get things working. It was a pleasant evening eventually with the passers-by, drawing more of my attentions. SIM was definitely crowded with cute babes.

I made my attempt to create documents for the FYP as the leader. Since I had wasted quite a lot of time with the MS Word bugs, Soon Siong caught up with me soon.

After dinner, we reached the lab right on time. Dr Loo surprised me by saying we could submit the assignments on the spot instead of following the paper’s instruction of emailing him before 7pm.

I began digging into the tutorial two all by myself and finished it right after Dr Loo announced that we had to submit it to him. We left the lab at 8pm, breaking the record. I was quite glad with myself for being able to finish the work for the entire group to prove my worth.

I missed a bus 75 right in front of me and thus, I followed Soon Siong in his bus 74 to transit to MRT.

I closed my lids a few times and lost track of the actual time that I dozed off.

Tuesday’s Traffic Jam

I took a free lift from Weitat on Tuesday evening home from office. He was going to fetch his friend at the old Gan Eng Seng School campus near the railway station.

It was drizzling, which probably answered to the mystery of three car accidents in Singapore at the same point of time. Moreover, there were also three cases of car breakdown, which kept Weitat’s journey fully occupied.

The mass traffic jam did not affect me a lot since I did not have any class or date for the evening. However, it took me an hour to reach home and I almost dozed off completely inside the car during the prolonged journey. Even though my usual MRT journey was only twenty minutes, exclusive of walking and waiting for the train, I was more than comfortable than squeezing with the ungracious people.
