A Fresh Start of a Saturday at Zaki’s Place

[Saturday, 5 June, 2010]

It was an unusual morning for it was the second time I stayed over at Zaki’s place. Hirman wanted to watch the Proposal but he knocked out soon. I watched it alone and went to sleep at around 2am.

I woke up at around 7am and was too alive to doze off. I was really amazed how the less than five hours of sleep could make me feel so comfortable and energetic; unlike my long hours of sleep at home.

When Hirman returned to conscious, he suggested watching The Legion but both of us started complaining that it was too slow. We managed to change the disc and started watching another show.

It was near 11am and we made our way out of Zaki’s house since he was going out for brunch with his brother soon. We were directionless in the car but alas Hirman decided to grab some bites near my house. We went to the market and then had coffee at the Spinelli. He was supposed to hear from me about the Life is so Beautiful project but I did not interrupt him from reading the newspaper. His intuition was right and he got a booking for illegal parking in the car park.

We dropped the plan for the afternoon because Hirman was dead beat. I washed up and started knocking off. It was quite a cooling afternoon in the drizzling weather.

Movie Night (Joei’s Birthday) at Zaki’s Place

[Friday, 4 June, 2010]

Friday morning, I struggled with my second bowl of fried rice. It was supposed to be my dinner but I took my supper outside and thus I had to finish it before my mum started nagging.

My main delivery of the day was numerous outdated blog posts.

I arranged with Hirman to pick me up on his way to Zaki’s house but Jenne was coming over to purchase a cake at the Amara Hotel and thus I waited for her instead. She told me she would be arriving at 6.30pm but she was delayed for more than an hour.

We went to make the order but Jenne realised her wallet was not with her and thus she went back to her car to search for it. I made the payment, signing off with my Go! card for the first time. Since she did not look very happy after her stressful day of work, I felt quite unsafe to talk much. She drove and overtook countless cars on the busy road and I was very worried for I was holding onto the cake.

Zaki, the chef, was cooking in front of all the hungry people who were chewing chips. It was to my horror that the main ingredient was beef. In order not to trouble anyone, I had a very plain dinner.

Cleaning the dishes was fun. Next was the cake cutting session for Joei but since Hirman had earlier on exposed Jenne’s location without knowing, it was no longer a surprise for Joei.

Everyone left except for Hirman and I.

The Injuries were still There

[Thursday, 3 June, 2010]

I had gaming till 5pm and it was difficult to wake up even at 10am. I made it to Tiong Bahru before 12pm but shifu was late for quite long. She introduced me to her friend, Jeremy, and Jeremy’s student. They went separately for lunch while shifu explained to me about Jeremy’s websites.

After lunch, I went straight to Tze Khit’s gym. He told me of additional amendments for his websites and I started working on it. It was difficult to edit another person’s work and I had problems searching for the exact files.

While working, I was distracted by the noisy gym. Then, Jeremy started asking me questions and soon, Kachua called and visited the gym. Since I had my sports gear with me, I skipped doing gym and joined Kachua for volleyball instead.

We went to Clementi ITE and I was quite surprised to see many ex colleagues’ cars around. We went to IMM since the hall was empty and I grabbed a Mc chicken burger.

Upon returning to the hall, we heard about story of Mingfa’ student fell and was injured by the hook of the volleyball pole near the private part. Everyone was disgusted. Mingfa was not around and I accompanied coach to chat. I joined in only at the third game and could see myself rust like as if I was a newbie. I was strengthless, or rather, having phobia with my hurting left should and foot. I even missed two serving, which was crappy.

Luckily, Weitat asked me over to the side to warm-up and I got more used to controlling the ball – usually, we had too many people playing with a ball by the side and I would not want to join in. However, the hurt on my left shoulder was too unbearable each time when I exerted it.

I played as setter in my third and last game, and turned the table around after being thrashed in the previous games without Mingfa.

After the game, we went for supper near NUS, next to the prata shop.

Discussion of Website Amendment with Tze Khit

[Wednesday, 2 June, 2010]

The day began almost similarly, playing game with my brother. We started downloading and playing non-official maps. However, he had found a new job and we would not be playing so frequently together anymore. I slept at 7am after doing some work.

In the afternoon, I waited for quite long for my mum to return but she called when I was inside the toilet and thus she did not buy my lunch back. I quickly rushed over to Tze Khit’s gym at 3pm and had a delivery order from the Rice Experience stall nearby.

Tze Khit discussed over the changes he wanted to make in his websites together with me. I did not tell him the price because it was difficult to talk about money between good friends. Since he was rushing for an appointment and thus we left together after 5.30pm, after I downloaded all his files from the server. I accompanied him at the market.

A Bad Gaming Experience

[Tuesday, 1 June, 2010]
Ever since my elder brother improved a lot in the Command and Conquer game, the early morning was the first time we experienced ultimate setback. The computer AIs were too strong and their combination of attacks using the three different armies proved human beings’ invention was great. After a few games of defeat, we eventually won but we were both mentally exhausted.
I continued with my work and finally wrote an article for SmokeForWhat. Then, I continued with updating of the sCreative website (gone with the wind!) until 6.30am.
The day was more of my usual Facebook management.

Facebook Marketing

[Monday, 31 May, 2010]

On Monday morning, I continued the Command and Conquer game with my elder brother.

My creativeness returned.

I tested on Facebook marketing and I realised it was quite useless broadcasting something openly. Instead, it would be much useful to approach people individually.

I wanted to join a Facebook competition to win $500 but I realised such competition would only require countless efforts in spamming friends, such that the time and irritation caused would exceed more than the prize money. I gave up.

Family Dinner at Vivocity

[Sunday, 30 May, 2010]

I was sinned for I slept at 6am again.

After working on Facebook, I went to Vivocity with my mum to meet up with my elder brother and his girlfriend at the Carl’s Junior. Even though I only had a bowl of green bean soup for the entire day, I was not very hungry. I requested the staff to slice both burgers I bought into halves so that I could exchange with my mum easily but he refused. The BBQ chicken was extremely small and it cost over eight bucks, which I thought it was daylight robbery.

We went to shop at Daiso and I was quite surprised that my mum only took a packet of sweet. Our trip at Giant was quite decent. I was attracted by the concert of Tae Yeon over at the Plasma TV area. Then, we camped around the camping stuffs section. I quite missed the furniture section where my younger brother and I drooled over the cheap sofa. In the end, we purchased nothing and went home.

A Thought of Beautiful Life

[Saturday, 29 May, 2010]
I got to rest a while by having a Command and Conquer game with my elder brother. By then, my effort in managing my new Facebook Page had brought in more than five thousand fans. I knew the figure would increase more.
My mind could never stop working then. I knew I was able to reach out to many young Singaporeans and it also meant I could do something to help those in need, in term of mentality poverty. The first person I could think of to work with was Hirman, the greatest creative educator who would do beyond his limit to help the youngsters. It was the greatest goal I had in mind to change all the selfish and wrong thinking of human beings, which was far from possible, even though I had already started http://sobeautifullife.blogspot.com.
Somehow, I blamed myself for I had not started looking for job and yet I was thinking of non-profit work again. It was 8am when I hit the bed.
I woke up at 2pm. I tried asking Hirman if he wanted to meet up. I contacted Joei but she had a concert to attend and could only meet us up after 11pm, which was quite late. In the end, the plan was cancelled and I would have to wait until Friday before I could meet the group of wonderful educators at Zaki’s house for the “movie night”.
While doing the contacting, I received an enquiry for web design and I took very long to think of an appropriate reply. I was never a sales person and I hated spoiling things. The focus of the day was on Facebook for the enormous progress.
At night, my family had steamboat together.
