Shopped at IKEA for Bathroom Items

[Sunday, 17 October, 2010]

I was distracted by the Fifa Superstars game in Facebook. It was not the best game around but it definitely aroused my fighting spirit. I was never a competitive person and I believed it was doing me good except that it took away some time from me. I continued to work on my new tuition site and slept at 7am.

I woke up before noon. My younger brother’s German friend came over. He was standing at near two metres and we went to Ah Moy Street to eat the lor mee. We brought Lucky along this time. After that, we went to NTUC where my mum bought another box of big mineral bottles for the workers.

After going home, I took naps and also spent some time on the Facebook game, and also chatted with Anthea.

We waited for my younger brother to return home as we agreed to set off for IKEA at 6.30pm. He was late. After he reached home, I went to the third storey temporary toilet to shit before we went to the bus-stop at Cantonment Link.

We had our dinner at IKEA near 8pm. Since we knew time was running out, we ordered just main course enough to fill our stomachs and started shopping soon. We bought a mirror and corner tray set for the bathroom. My elder brother and I had hotdog bun while waiting for the collection of the items and then we set off to the bus-stop near 10pm.

After reaching home, my entire family went down to the third storey to take our bath together with Lucky. Though I really hated the hassle of preparing and carrying the items down, it somehow brought my family closer together.

Bathing the Kampong Style

[Saturday, 16 October, 2010]

I started the FIFA Superstars game in Facebook after Guoxin pestered me a few times to play. It began quite a turned off for loading was a problem and there was bug that prevented me from doing anything at the start. After that, I continued working on Facebook. I went to bed after 4am.

Lucky woke me up in the morning and after dozing off a few times, I woke up for my mum’s packet noodle. I was half alive and visited my younger brother at the third storey’s temporary study room at noon. After going home, I took more naps.

The entire family had our dinner at the coffee shop between Cantonment Road and Yan Kit Road. We went to the noodle stall and the male stall owner was irritating me as he tried to sell his food too hard. When I footed the bill, he was showing me how to count the money right in front of me and refused to leave after some time, acting like a moron. I was also right about my anticipation of the drinks. We ordered homemade iced lemon tea and that guy served us four cups of very healthy ones, which were almost tasteless. We went back to get him to add more sugar but it tasted as bland.

We took Lucky for a walk right after finishing dinner. As we unleashed Lucky, he walked away without answering to our call and eventually went to the road. He was lucky enough that there was no car at the entrance of the car park as my younger brother and I noticed that he had no sense of danger at all.

After going home, I caught the television show on channel 8 for a while before my mum came home. My younger brother and I went down to the third storey with her to use the temporary bathroom. There was a moveable one placed at the kitchen but we did not like it for it was too small. Moreover, my mum needed to wash the clothes by hands since she could not use the washing machine, and it was too difficult for her to do it inside the small moveable toilet. We carried our stuffs down and then waited for mum to finish washing the clothes. It was like kampong style in the olden days where every household shared the common bathroom and toilet. It was fun but troublesome.

First Day of Renovation

[Friday, 15 October, 2010]

I was on Facebook to get ready my marketing work before I tried to sleep at 5.30am. Soon, my elder brother opened the door for Lucky to come in as he was leaving for reservist. I could not doze off until the workers came over to start the renovation.

It was the first day of my eleven days terror even though the thundering sounds had been terrorizing my family since weeks ago when it was our neighbour’s turn. As the workers wanted to break the tiles inside the bathroom and toilet, and it would create lots of dust, they set up walls along a passage such that the bedrooms’ doors would be blocked. My younger brother set off much earlier for school and thus I was the only one left to take care of Lucky since my mum was not totally ready. Fearing the amount of dust that would damage Lucky’s health, I brought him to the gym.

I continued updating Tze Khit’s website at the gym. He bought lunch for me since I could not join him for I had to take care of Lucky. I dozed off for seconds occasionally as I was too tired and yet had to keep an eye on Lucky in case he ran around to bark at gym’s users or even pee around.

Bobby came into the gym early and thus I was more entertained. In the mid afternoon, my elder brother came over to join me and Lucky as he came home earlier from the camp. Tze Khit had two pretty trainees. Later, Andrew came over and he agreed to join Letian and I in the business idea he had given.

After reaching home in the late afternoon, I dozed off and was woke up by my mum. She passed me her mobile phone for a survey regarding MediaCorp’s television channels. That lady started to piss me off with the endless questions I thought were dumb. My brain was almost numb at the moment but I felt holy for being nice.

Lucky came over and nipped me non-stop. Suddenly, my mum told me it was near 10pm and Lucky was still not fed. I was stunned and jumped up of the mattress, and went over to question my elder brother who was playing game. I quickly started preparing his food.

After Lucky finished his late dinner, the three of us took Lucky to Maxwell Food Centre where we had our late dinner as well. It was creepy to eat with tiny cockroaches crawling around. After so many years, I was surprised that nobody had reported the disgusting pest infestation to NEA or any organisation to clear it up.

Lucky Chewed on My Spectacle

[Thursday, 14 October, 2010]

I spent the morning blogging on other blogs even though I knew I was lagging behind on my personal blog. I had a chat with Yaozhong before sunrise. I took some cereal and slept after 6am.

I was pissed off with the neighbour staying right above my flat for I had observed slamming of the bedroom door daily as early as 6am since long ago and finally confirmed it. It was definitely done deliberately for the banging noise was very loud. It happened almost every time when I stayed up till after 6am. When Lucky first came, the sudden sharp and loud noise would wake him up to start barking. I was not sure if the lonely bitch was the culprit or she could have rented a room, but there was a high chance that she was the sick fellow.

I woke up before noon and was pissed off with Lucky for chewing on my spectacle. One of the ends was torn and only the sharp metal was left. I threw him out of my bedroom and ignored him when he was crying in the living room alone.

I woke up again at 3pm and went to the gym after having my lunch. The main purpose of the early trip was to help Tze Khit with his website again. Bobby bought chay kuay teow for me in the evening. I did my workout after that and Letian came over to discuss with me over the business plan suggested by Andrew. Bobby was sharp and realistic and warned us about the little benefit we could get. I had my own doubts too because Letian was simply too similar to me and we were too soft to be good sales-persons.

I tried to show my brothers my spectacle at the house’s door and it broke immediately when I tried to remove it from my ears.

I rested for a while before going down to walk Lucky with my elder brother.

Renovation Work Next Door was Affecting My Family

[Wednesday, 13 October, 2010]

I dozed off at around 6.30am and woke up at 3pm eventually. My appetite was bad.

It was another non-efficient day since the renovation work of my neighbour next door started. The noise level was terribly irritating and that my neighbour came over to my house to use the toilet often. I did not realise until my mum told me that the neighbour even came over to wash clothes and bathe.

There were jokes about this neighbour going to another neighbour’s house, which posed lots of troubles especially with the insane peeing of her dog. On the second day of the renovation when it was clean enough for the dog to stay at home, she insisted to go over to the neighbour’s house again. We felt lucky that we had Lucky with us and thus we were spared.

I spent most of my day on the television other than playing with Lucky.

Stalking Cameras

[Tuesday, 12 October, 2010]

I soon realised I was embarking on a slow progressing week of my life that I was too lazy to do anything much efficient.

I got to chat with Anthea on webcam in the evening. It was good since most of my friends did not like to use it, and some would even lie that they did not have a webcam. We had trouble connecting through MSN Live and I got her to install Skype instead, knowing that MSN was problematic nowadays.

I went down to join my brothers to play with Lucky soon after they left the house. As usual, we had the scooter and waveboard with us. After sweating out, we decided to go to my mum to get two bucks to get two cups of slurpee from 7-11 store at Icon.

We questioned my mum’s ladyboss about the webcams that her husband had installed all over the shop and even some that were pointing out of the shop to intrude in privacy of others, but she claimed that most of the webcams were spoiled. We felt it was wrong for them to monitor their staffs this way when the wages were paid accordingly to the amount of work done and not that they were paid a fixed amount monthly that they would try to slack around.

First Packing up for Renovation

[Monday, 11 October, 2010]

My mum started packing the kitchen for the upcoming HDB home improvement program while I settled my work place. I spent quite some time blogging before sleeping near 7am.

I woke up at noon and spent my afternoon working on Facebook and chatting.

Walking the dog at night with brothers was a habit.

Smoking Outlaws

[Sunday, 10 October, 2010]

I took a long time to blog and went to bed at around 5.30am.

I woke up at noon and went to Ah Moy Street with my family for lunch. After that, I continued my beauty sleep.

Our dinner was at Swis Ling Restaurant, an outdoor seafood stall at 1 Teo Hong Road. We were telling the waitress that we did not want to sit near any smoking area and suddenly, two young Chinese guys came over and one was holding a lighted cigarette. They took the table next to us, which was stationed in the non-smoking area. We changed table. When the waitress came over, I questioned her about allowing her customers to smoke at inappropriate places, and she claimed that her customers would be fined two hundred bucks. From what we knew, the stall owner, or probably the person in charge would be fined as well for allowing that.

We ordered some mee hoon, fried rice, satays and a plate of pork ribs. The pork ribs were expensive with a few miserable pieces at ten bucks, but they tasted extremely nice. The homemade honey lemon was fantastic as well. However, my younger brother got bitten badly by mosquitoes and when the bill came, we were stunned by the price of the drinks.

Before we left, a China lady came over and took the big table besides ours, and started lighting up cigarette stick as well. I was very disappointed at how people could break the laws and harm other people’s health. I wondered how she would react if someone were to keep farting besides her while she was eating. Anyway, the waitress did not do anything as well, probably because she did not want to offend her customers and lose the businesses.

After reaching home, I got myself a photo of a smoker for an article in SmokeForWhat from a net friend.

Swim at Sengkang and Foot Massage at People’s Park Centre

[Saturday, 9 October, 2010]

Other than working on my new website, I started blogging for my personal and other blogs to keep them updated. I slept at 5am. It was an unusual day for I slept on top of the double decker bed, swapping places with my younger brother. However, as I climbed up, Lucky woke up and made a din for he wanted to join me.

I woke up at 8am. When I was checking my email, I realised my Facebook account was live again. I was the first to arrive at Sengkang. Peh had just woke up while Gilbert was a few stations away. I even had the time to walk around and hesitate to have my KFC twister because I was worried that I might throw out inside the pool later. I went to the toilet before going to the control station to meet up with Gilbert. We went to Breadtalk and we set off to Farmway after I had my hotdog bun.

While we were purchasing the tickets to the swimming pools, Peh arrived just in time. I felt uneasy with the old swimming trunk for the rubber was loose already. We used the digital lockers before going down to the main pool. We stopped after each lap and completed only ten laps. Then we went to play the slides. It was very enjoyable and I was quite reluctant to leave but Peh was having something on.

We went to Compass Point for lunch. Dining at Yoshinoya was one of the worst terrors I had but I decided to go with the flow without telling them I did not like the restaurant. Peh had to leave right after the meal and I followed Gilbert to Ion to get his new Topshop member card. After walking around for a while, we went home.

I dozed off in the afternoon soon after reaching home. In the evening, my younger brother decided to bring my mum for massage as she was complaining about her shoulders after the long eyes check-up. We went to People’s Park Centre and my younger brother and I had foot massage while waiting for my mum. It was a good experience for the send time I had ever had foot massage. The massager held back whenever he saw that I was in extreme pain. The only flaw was that the two massagers kept talking and often paused.

We had dinner at the hawker centre nearby. Since I had five pieces of “shui guo” before leaving house, we shared two plates of noodle. The shops that we wanted to visit were all closed. During the journey home, my elder brother called and we met up at Duxton Plain Park with Lucky. My younger brother went home to get the waveboard and scooter, while the rest of us crossed over to the 7-11 store below Icon to get slurpee.

Dinner with Gym Kakis

[Friday, 8 October, 2010]

I did my website until after 3am. Lucky refused to sleep again and I had to stop him from going towards my mum. The last time I checked the clock was at 4.30am.

I woke up at 2pm and Lucky was waiting at the bedroom’s door. I did not sense anything wrong until I went to the toilet to see that the entrance was blocked with a piece of hard board. After my mum returned, she told me Lucky was terrorizing my house again and thus she kept Lucky inside the toilet. Then, we realised Lucky had somehow made his way out.

My younger brother had done testing for my website and found a spelling error and a bug. I spent quite some time going through the web form but could not see anything wrong.

I went to the gym in the evening. Junze, Letian and Andrew were around. Andrew had a business idea for us and we found it interesting. I went home to fetch my wallet since they were going to Maxwell Food Centre for dinner together and that my mum did not buy dinner.
