Swim with Both my Brothers

[Tuesday, 7 September, 2010]

I accelerated on my work. After having a game of Command and Conquer with my elder brother, I continued with the website until 6am.

I woke up at 2pm and lazed around for a while in front of the laptop to check my emails and watch funny videos in Facebook. My younger brother called me and asked me out for a swim. I quickly emptied the noodle on the table into my stomach and started packing up with my elder brother.

The very lonely old man who always smoked at the bus-stop in front of Amara hotel was sitting there again. He threw sweet wrapper on the ground and I really felt that he was a pest. My younger brother boarded the same bus at Harbourfront Centre and we went to Mount Faber Safra together. This time, the ticket machine was working but the entry gantry refused to open. We unlocked the gate ourselves and passed the two tickets to the lifeguard by the pool.

I took a rest after ten laps like the previous time. After the twentieth lap, I went to the Jacuzzi with my elder brother and my younger brother joined us soon. We stayed there to chat for quite long time. At 6pm, we went for shower. I caught a cold like the previous week but it was not as bad.

We waited for our mum at Harbourfront bus interchange and took our dinner at Seah Lm food centre. We bought food from a Muslim chicken rice stall with long queue but it was a regret to try the food for it tasted quite awful.

After dinner, we went to Vivocity’s Daiso where my mum bought her candy. Then, we went to the pet shop. There was a golden retriever moving about freely just behind the gate at the most inner section where the dogs were kept. My elder brother tried to touch it and the male staff stopped him with a very rude tone and words. The lady besides the unfriendly male staff explained to us that the dog was not vaccinated and could be infected easily. Even though it was a good explanation, we could not understand why the male staff would behave like as if we were going to play with his dick.

My elder brother told us that this guy had showed attitude earlier on. It would probably be a different case if he was attending to foreigners and it clearly displayed the very bad customer service and hypocrisy of Singaporeans. If I were his boss, I would have him sacked because even if the customers were smart enough not to purchase dogs at the overpriced shop, at least they might get the dogs’ food or accessories over there in future.

After reaching home, my brothers and I started playing game together. We played two games but restarted once for each.

Warming up the Engine Slowly

[Monday, 6 September, 2010]

Even though I did not sleep the previous night, I failed to doze off at 2am and finally got up at 3+am. I realised some numbers were missing from my SIM card. Luckily I could dig up Wanling’s number by inserting the SIM card into the spoilt phone since the number keypads were still working. Then I dropped her a message to cheer her up for her first night shift. I started playing game and went to bed after 5am.

I woke up at 2pm. I spent quite some time digging up my old quotations from Facebook to gather them. I spent some time to work on Tze Khit’s website for the online payment and finally, glued my eyes to the television.

Johor Bahru Trip with Family and Latecomer

[Sunday, 5 September, 2010]

I spent the morning blogging and surfing the net for the prices of iPhone and BlackBerry phone. I tried sleeping after 4am but could not doze off. I finally got up at 7am and started preparing myself for the Johor Bahru trip.

We went to the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station and bought the tickets for the train at 8.45am together with my aunt. It was the first time I used my new passport. We reached City Square before 10am and went to the MacDonald’s for breakfast while waiting for Anthony. He finally replied my younger brother’s SMS and told us that he would be late and thus we went shopping.

After we met up with Anthony, we went shopping for mooncake at the bazaar before having lunch at Kim Gary. We were surprised when Anthony bid us goodbye right after the lunch. We did more shopping after that and my mum also bought more mooncake. We took train back to Singapore.

We started enjoying the three slices of cake we got from Secret Recipe at Johor, together with bailey with milk. My younger brother forbade me from taking a nap since he did not want me to stay awake at night.

Our dinner at around 9pm was at the Muslim prata shop for the first time as we were too tired to travel farther away.

Sleepy Throughout

[Saturday, 4 September, 2010]

I started my day at Guoxin’s house with Wanling. After his dad returned with the car, we set off to Bukit Timah Shopping Centre. The lans shop required us to sign up as member and we refused to foot the ten bucks per person, and thus we decided to try our luck at Ang Mo Kio. After reaching there, we realised the shop was closed by 1am. Guoxin dropped Wanling at her place before sending me home.

I had some chat with my younger brother who got home later than me from Zouk, shocking me with the admission price of thirty bucks. I slept around 5am after setting the photos taken earlier on. My aunt came over with breakfast and woke us up. I went back to sleep but was disrupted numerous times.

I woke up in the mid afternoon and had my late meal. I had a few naps and also dreamed about having a super cute puppy. I felt tired throughout the day for I only had around two hours of sleep the day before.

I had dinner with my family at Maxwell food centre. After that, online news occupied my time.

One of the Best Days – Suntan, Dinner and Movie

[Friday, 3 September, 2010]

I was taken aback to realise that my source code for the Quit Smoking Calculator being stolen by someone who was foolish enough to be discovered by me. I was probably too naïve to believe that the world was still quite decent and nobody would have done that; at least the person would have credited it to me. This was not the case this time and the girl did not even care to modify much of the coding. I dropped her an email to check if she was a human or wildlife before I would do anything. I could see details of her in her Facebook profile.

I spent too much time doing the website instead of looking for a job, and I really cherished my baby a lot.

This nasty incident forced me to include a simple copyright statement on top of the pages in a form of comment. Scripting in JavaScript for simple application was easier than doing it in PHP, which involved other pages, but due to security purpose, I would have to make new adjustments in future.

I went to bed after 5am but the backache caused me my sleep. It was really bad this time that I could only doze off after 6am despite I was really tired. I woke up before 8am, before my alarm clock on my phone sounded. Even though I lazed on the mattress, I did not dare to doze off for I knew I would oversleep. Wanling dropped me a SMS to delay our meeting time from 9.30am to 10.30am. After stepping out of my house before 10am, I asked her and she told me she would make it at 11am instead. I returned home after seeing her reply.

The top buttons of my Sony Ericsson G705 failed on me whenever I pulled the slide phone down and I had to push it back before I could press the button to send SMS. Since I had got the time, I did a restore factory setting action to be surprised that the phone went back to normal. However, it soon regained the stupidity. I was glad that the phone did not die on me totally before I met up with Wanling at Harbourfront MRT station.

We went to Breeks Café at Harbourfront Centre. Since I had taken my breakfast while waiting for her earlier on, I did not have room for food. Consuming a bowl of soup was filling enough. We started our usual chatting and I was quite astonished over her comment on me that I had too many things in mind to get working, which made her a good observer. We went over to the hawker centre to purchase our lunch from my favourite chicken rice stall before we boarded the Sentosa bus.

We went to Siloso beach on account that there would be more bikinis than the Palawan Beach’s side. We lay the picnic mats and started to enjoy the peaceful day, watching foreigners passing by and a couple showing off hot kisses. It was one of the best afternoons I had ever had, suntanning with a sweet girl who could easily tolerate all my craps and indecisiveness for more than eleven years.

Apart from the enjoyment, I had headaches regarding the dinner date I had with Guoxin and Mingli without my phone. I had to use Wanling’s phone to communicate with them and I was hoping too much to finalise it as soon as possible that it cracked my head. The problem was I wanted to include Wanling in since she had no curfew, and that Mingli had told me that she did not want to go out till late hour. Guoxin and I were considering over catching a movie after dinner over either at Vivocity or Jurong Point. If we were to catch it at Vivocity, it was more convenient to go home for Wanling but Mingli might find it a hassle to meet us; whereas, Jurong Point was too far for Wanling to go home. Guoxin suggested going to his house after the movie at Jurong Point to wait for his dad’s car so that he could send Wanling and I home, but it would be after midnight. After hesitating for some time, Wanling finally gave in and agreed to Guoxin’s suggestion.

After washing up in the late afternoon, we went to Harbourfront’s MacDonald’s because Wanling was too thirsty for the coke, which she claimed that the restaurant served the best. I tried hard to fix my phone but it insisted to depart.

We met up with Guoxin first and went to the movie ticket booth immediately to purchase the tickets. Mingli met up with us at New York New York. I had a plate of teriyaki chicken instead of fish and chips for I wanted to fill my stomach with something harder. After dinner, we shopped for a while until near 9pm when the movie started. I forgot to get a group photo before Mingli left.

We went into the cinema right in time when the movie – Grown-ups – started. The seat was low and I had a bad time with my back, trying not to block the person behind me by sitting low. The comedy was fantastic and I almost died laughing many times. I supposed the companion made it better.

After that, we took bus to Guoxin’s house and started playing with his dog, Golden. Then, we played daidee and I got my ear and forehead hit by Guoxin.

Recovering from the Sickness

[Thursday, 2 September, 2010]

I began the day blogging and even though I was still sick, I struggled with SmokeForWhat till 7am in my giddiness and headache.

My elder brother woke me up at around 2pm just to look at some pictures.

I spent the day on SmokeForWhat with distractions. Occasionally I still got some headaches.

My mobile phone was going to die on me soon.

I Fell Sick with a Bad Flu

[Tuesday, 31 August, 2010]

I tried to sleep as early as before 5am and I woke up before 9am. I did not go back to sleep for I remembered my younger brother told me that he could go for a swim before his school. My mum bought breakfast for us from the coffee shop at the second level on its last day of business.

I went to the toilet twice before setting off. The noodle seemed to be a curse. Then, we took bus 145 to Mount Faber Safra and the ticket selling machine failed on us again. I hesitated for a while before visiting the toilet again. I joined my brother in the swim soon but my left shoulder caused me enough pain to slow down but I eventually got used to it. After taking down ten laps using my zip-zap swimming style to avoid the crowd, I stopped for my stomach to digest properly for a while before my chest was choked. It certainly described how bad the problem with my stomach had become. Anyway, I swam another ten laps before the problem relapsed and that summed up my day.

We went up to the second storey to look around after taking our bath, into the E-Mart and then bowling alley. Then, my brother set off to school while I went home alone with my wet nose. I regretted badly not bringing along tissue paper.

The running nose worsened soon and I started sneezing as well. I tried to rest but could not doze off. I posted question in Facebook to discuss about how to solve the problem to smoking in public housing and a smoker posted an idiotic comment to piss me off.

I planned to set off early to for photography before meeting up my ex-colleagues but my weak body refused me. In the end, the bus 75 played trick on me and the bad traffic jam worsened the situation. I alighted a bus-stop earlier and finally reached Rail Mall half an hour late. My gang, consisting of Hirman, Christine, Joei and Eunice had finished their dinner and left a potato for me. I was surprisingly bloated after taking it. Since I was sick, they ordered a bowl of pumpkin soup for me. It was never a boring outing with Hirman around.

As they were calculating the bill of nearly $140, they excluded me for I took very little stuffs and that I was jobless. I felt like taking free lodging. Hirman dropped me at Keppel Road before he sent Joei for her next appointment at East Coast. I felt the urge to get my civilian driving license and car so that I could do friends favours as well.

After reaching home, my younger brother made a cup of tea for me upon knowing that I was having a bad flu.

I Needed a Place to Sleep

[Monday, 30 August, 2010]

After blogging, I tried to sleep after 5am but it seemed difficult. My mum had piled up the side of the mattress with her stuffs and she had been sleeping over my mattress, leaving half to two-third of a single mattress for me. I felt uncomfortable for I did not want to hit her accidentally and thus I could not flip my body. Moreover, she slept sideway and faced me with her weird snoring. Nevertheless, my weird stomach worsened the situation.

I got up at around 7am, feeling so in need of a portable bed frame. However, as I started my laptop, I remembered the fact that there was no place even for the living room. Half hour after seven, I SMSed Tze Khit to check if he had reached the gym, however, he replied me that he wanted to catch some sleep there and thus I did not go over. I went to bed again before 9am when my mum was up.

I woke up at around 3pm. I went online to research a bit about my new website. After my younger brother returned, I started into planning of the design on paper. The television distracted me but it was good enough to get started.

The Sunday Family Day Again

[Sunday, 29 August, 2010]

I was working on SmokeForWhat with some distraction in between, and finally went to sleep after 6am, feeling accomplished.

I woke up at around 2pm. my mum was not at all and my elder brother went to the EXPO with his girlfriend for the Watson sales. I caught a movie on channel 8 with my younger brother while doing my work. After the couple returned, my younger brother and I went to the Subway at Amara Hotel for our late breakfast.

We share a footlog bread, which was the twelve inches one. There were tables outside and there were a big group of young people who seemed like people working for MLM even though they did not dress up very formally like the usual idiots. They were discussing things and soon started talking over their mobile phones, and finally, we saw some products on the tables.

Apart from the great distraction of the suspicious group of people outside, inclusive of a couple of more than average looking girls, I had discussion with my younger brother over my ideas on websites. He agreed that it was a waste of my talent to go to companies and start working like crazy for them. Since it was late and my mum was reaching home, my younger brother decided not to continue studying there anymore.

After reaching home, before I could warm my seat in front of my laptop, my family was ready to leave the house for dinner. We walked to Chinatown Complex and ordered a fish head and a plate of chicken for our dinner. After that, we went to the CK departmental store, followed by the NTUC near my house.

After reaching home, I removed the ugly stuffs sticking on the wardrobe’s doors before my younger brother started to shift the doors to position the mirror at the far side. My mum started clearing the kitchen’s wardrobes.

Sad that I was Right

“The overall speed of responses signifies the value of you in a person’s heart. Know where you stand and learn to let go; quit being a clown.” – I was right all along.

This morning, some truths finally came into light. Sometimes I got so disheartened by my sharpness for I could see the appreciation from friends easily. There were always reasons why some things had happened and why some people would neglect you.

I did my usual blogging and eventually I dug up some songs that went missing somehow. Before I went to bed at around 5am, I began a bit on a new page for SmokeForWhat.

I began with work soon after waking up at around 2pm. I almost forgot it was a Saturday.

In the evening, I dropped Bianhong a message to check if he had seen my email to him days ago that I had attached the amended design for him. He finally called me back to confirm that he was satisfied with it and he wanted to send to the shop in a couple hours of time before it closed. I was wondering why he was not anxious about it days ago but I guessed he did not want to hurry me. It took me some brain cells to try to convince him that the draft copy that I had sent him was less than one-third the quality of the original version. In the end, I made assurance that he would be mocked by the printing company for the poor quality, and that he had to trust me, having to wait on.

I saved the finally version in the original 300 dpi quality and it took quite some time for the A2 size design to appear in JPG in the highest quality. After uploading it to MediaFire, the free file hosting site failed me yet again when the entire file went missing. I had to re-upload it but I pinned my hope on YouSendIt instead, which worked.
