Lucky to Hot Dog for Nails Trimming

[Saturday, 6 November, 2010]

I spent quite some time blogging before going to bed at 6am.

Eventually, I woke up at 2pm and had my lunch. After that, I followed my brothers and my elder brother’s girlfriend to bring Lucky to trim his nails at “Hot Dog”, which was near River Valley. We took cab over.

Lucky was excited to be at the pet shop. After trimming his nails, he pooed on the floor right behind an ah moh who was footing her bill at the counter. My elder brother bought a spraying conditioner for him. Then, we had a long walk towards Clarke Quay. After passing by Riverside Point, we bought two ice-creams and boarded a cab at South Bridge Road. Upon alighting at Tanjong Pagar, I bought a cup of Slurpee to share.

We had dinner at Chinatown an hour later after my mum returned from work. We had eleven small bowls of chicken rice and the thrill was the trying out of cheap fruit juices at a dollar each. My stomach was bloated and thus I took only two bowls of rice and little meat.

After reaching home, we were surprised that Lucky did not make a mess out of the kitchen. I started working on my website by submitting it to directories and also created banners to place inside.

Woke up in Giddiness

[Friday, 5 November, 2010]

I started my Friday morning replying to Facebook’s birthday greeting comments. Thoughts went through my mind.

Then I continued with my website. I had webcam session with Anthea and continued with some work before going to bed at 7am.

I woke up at 4pm, feeling drowsy like as if I was on a boat. It was probably due to sleeping for too long due to lack of sleep for the night before. I started distributing the Calendar Planner 2011 through email.

My elder brother, his girlfriend and my mum went to MacDonald’s for late dinner but since I took my lunch very late, I did not join them. My brother got me a chicken burger.

My Birthday 2010

[Thursday, 4 November, 2010]

Facebook kept me occupied for hours. It was tedious to reply to the birthday greetings; and at certain point of time, the flood overtook my pace. I went to bed at 4am.

I managed to wake up on time. In the train, there was an insane uncle bothering me, asking me which camp I was from and he kept asking me to go to the cookhouse to eat. I realised Terry was two doors away from me at the opposite side. The uncle did not spare him. However, he moved away fast enough to end his torment earlier. Later on, Kang told us he was being woke up by an idiot and we knew he was the same person. I had overheard an auntie saying this old man loved to disturb people in army uniform.

I bought a hotdog bun for breakfast. It was an unusual day for there was a safety talk, which all of the NSmen were forced to attend as well. Basically, all except one shit point regarded us at the end of a talk. We had a boring discussion for the safety day before moving for lunch break. There was a mini birthday celebration and I had to be the centre of attraction.

I left camp earlier together with Terry since we had got the off pass settled. I logged on to Facebook and there were more birthday greeting for me to reply.

I dozed off in the evening and left for dinner with my mum and younger brother at 8pm after the channel 8 show. We went to Manhattan at Central. Gastric pain attacked me but our seafood platter came late. We had two glasses of drinks and they were pretty interesting. We walked to One Fullerton after the dinner instead of taking straight bus home directly.

After reaching home, I was surprised with a cake. The whole family was around to celebrate together. I kept myself busy replying to birthday greeting in Facebook.

I had lost count of the number people who greeted me. It was probably over two hundred of them. I was excited to see messages from people whom I thought would never greet me, on the other hand, I was disappointed to hear nothing from some good friends.

Reservist Day 3 – The Test was Over Again

[Wednesday, 3 November, 2010]

I worked on my website until 2.30am. Even though I woke up at 5.30am, I dozed off again and my mum saved me at 6am. I met Terry on the train and we waited a while for Kang before going to the bread shop. I got myself a bun for breakfast.

We managed to catch the squadron bus. It was a sleepy morning. Test was conducted and after that was a relaxing day for all of us. I got my off form but was not certain if I could leave earlier the next day.

Since Terry had left earlier for school, I was together with Kang and we hitched a car together to get out of the camp. We met Yutong, whom I felt was a nice guy. The three of us met again at the MRT station and we took the same direction train home.

I spent some time to forward emails. It was a rush hour for me when I realised there was a bug in my personal website. There was nothing wrong in my localhost and I had to adjust the code such that both the webhost server and localhost could accept it. I was working on a new page for Smart Tuition when my brothers wanted to bring Lucky down for a walk. I joined them more than half an hour later.

Helping Out at the Gym

[Tuesday, 2 November, 2010]

I went to sleep after 2am and woke up at 5.30am.

After meeting up with Terry, we went to the hawker centre to get some food. I bought only a bowl of beancurd for eighty cents. Since I had slept much earlier than usual, I could keep myself more refreshed in the morning. I spent some time writing and planning for Smart Tuition Singapore. I tried the burger from the ninja van but it was awful. I missed the chicken burger from the Stagmont Camp’s ex Specialist Mess uncle.

After the interview, which I was told that I could be granted time off to leave earlier on Thursday for my birthday dinner, I could not hang on for the afternoon as I was deprived of sleep. In the late afternoon, Terry and I hitched a car out of the camp.

After having my dinner, I went to the gym to help out. Since it was getting late, the meeting with Andrew and my team was cancelled. It took an hour to hurt my skin on the finger as they were short of penknives and I had to use brute force to tear the wrapping plastic from the new equipments. I left earlier with Andrew for they had enough people there. I knew I had done my part for my friends despite I was already being frustrated by the lack of time due to the reservist.

Reservist Day One

[Monday, 1 November, 2010]

I was working on the tuition website before I started updating outdated blog entries. I went to sleep after 4am but could not doze off.

Before I made my way out of my house, I realised I did not fold my Smart Four. Terry had reached Eunos before I boarded the train. I was late for around fifteen minutes. We were very early in the end and took the squadron bus in after registering with Mingkai.

We chatted inside the AV room until around 9am when the introduction started. Then, we got to know of the new stupid rules. The ninja van came at around 10am, which was near lunch. I bought noodle and it tasted quite bad. We could hardly finish half of our lunchbox.

We took the squadron bus out in the end of the day together with Victor. Then, Terry and I took bus 94 back to Eunos before transiting to the train.

Lucky was my main concern of the day and it was good to see him back at home. I had sushi as supper. My brothers and I went down to walk Lucky before going home to catch the show.

Email Marketing

[Sunday, 31 October, 2010]

It was an abnormal morning. My younger brother, mum, Lucky and I were at our neighbour’s house. Then, we brought the lady’s daughter and son over to look at my house, which the mum did a couple of hours ago.

I did email marketing while surfing net and finally went to sleep at 9am. After waking up at 4pm, I had improvements made on the Smart Tuition Singapore website. Time was running short.

At night, my brothers and I went down to walk Lucky. I met Mingfa and his girlfriend after their dinner. We went to the gym later to see how the painting work progress was going on.

John came down later to show off his fats and I was really disgusted over his monkey business, which turned the condition of my slipper worse. On our way home, he returned from the NTUC and started some sarcasm, saying I did not help out in the painting. This irritating guy did not realise that he was using the gym at level two while the rest were working at level one, and yet he had the cheek to say the craps. Nevertheless, it was useless to prove him how busy I was until I could start throwing money at him.

The Home Visiting

[Saturday, 30 October, 2010]
I started the morning trying out a marketing strategy with my younger brother. Next, I continued working on the Singapore Calendar Planner 2011 for Smart Tuition Singapore. After it was done, I tried to standardise the other download pages’ format.
My elder brother left Singapore for Bali in the morning and I went to sleep at 8am.
I woke up at 4pm and my appetite was bad. My younger brother, mum and I went for Sakae Sushi at Icon for dinner.
After eating, we passed by the watch shop and had a long chat with the bosses. Then, we brought them home to look at the renovation of my house so that they could prepare for theirs and see what they could get for the workers to fix up on the last few days of the renovation.
As expected, Lucky messed up the kitchen with his pee and poo. I cleared the kitchen, mopped the floor and dried it before letting the visitors in. It was probably the only time my house was said to be tidy. After the house viewing over my place, we went over the opposite flat at their house as my mum wanted to give them opinions in clearing up the place..

Back to My Workplace in the Living Room

[Friday, 29 October, 2010]

I went for supper with my younger brother and mum at the prata shop. After that, I had a fruitful morning working on my tuition agency website with a new page. I took the contents from my portfolio property site and made amendments to list Singapore’s District with Postal Code. I did some work for my Facebook marketing before I continued with the tuition agency website to include random educational quotes at the bottom of every page. I was too worn off and eased my work at 8am.

I woke up at 1pm to continue with the boring job of gathering quotes. I moved back to the living room by afternoon to speed up on my work for lying down on the mattress restricted me from typing properly; moreover, the more than a week of improper working posture had worsened my back condition.

By evening, I moved the “Edit Profile” feature to live but there were feedbacks from the server’s PHP server, which issued warnings for some not very well coded lines. It was a tough fight to solve the problem.

I started working on a Singapore Calendar Planner 2011 for the users of my tuition agency website. My younger brother shared his seaweed with me while we caught the channel 8 show at 11pm together.

Overslept for 3pm’s Haircut Appointment

[Thursday, 28 October, 2010]

I had feedbacks from Yuqing, Yaozhong, Yingying and Jianwei regarding the design of my tuition agency website and all of them had different opinions on both the original and new formal looking design. The hesitation was killing me. I continued working on the website on its contents without making any major changes.

I started forwarding some interesting emails and blogged before I went to sleep at around 8am.

I woke up at 4pm in a shock for I had missed my haircut appointment, which was supposed to be at 3pm. My mum was busy packing the living room and had totally forgotten that I had instructed her to wake me up. Luckily, the auntie was available but I interrupted her from packing her house for it was going to be her flat’s HDB renovation soon.

My evening was spent quite efficient working on a tuition time sheet to put on the tuition website. I also spent some time settling some matters about the tuition agency.

My dinner was instant porridge and redbean soup and I continued with my work after that.
