Chang Point Boardwalk and Wild Wild Wet

[Wednesday, 7 April, 2010]

Gilbert and I finally went out again on Wednesday morning. The main destination was Wild Wild Wet at Downtown East but he planned to go to Changi Point Boardwalk before that since Wild Wild Wet’s operation hours started in the afternoon.

I met him up at Cityhall MRT where he hopped onto the train to go to Tampiness MRT together. After which, we took bus 29 to Changi. The walk was quite nice except that some parts of it was not completed yet, especially the Kellong Walk. I had some problems using my old Olympus D-750 camera after abandoning it for some time. The torching sun almost burned me.

After the walk, which we ended at the Changi Ferry Terminal, we went to the hawker centre to have nasi lemak. We gave the most popular stall a miss since the queue was long. After which, we took bus 29 to a bus-stop near Tampiness Junior College, crossed over to transit to bus 3. We alighted at the bus-stop opposite Downtown East and quickly went to the MacDonald’s to find Gilbert’s friend, Rachel.

Soon, we proceeded to Wild Wild Wet with the two free tickets Gilbert was holding while Rachel had a discount voucher. It was a fun afternoon but I realised I had a bad sunburn after that.

Reaching home, I started checking my email and it took me a couple of hours to reply to those regarding my farewell message. I finished a blog entry before going down to the prata shop to join Kachua for supper.

Who are the True Friends?

We do thing differently and we view things differently. Everyone in this world is so distinguish in one or another way.

Very few people share the same vision as me. I may not be a smart person but sometimes things do turn out in the correct way, probably after taking a longer route; and nobody can foresee my destination before that.

It is in fact easier to understand the basic of me than other people because I’m always so frank at everywhere – be it my blog or Facebook profile or other places available online. How many people bother though?

Months ago when I was playing with the new students by telling them I was their senior, some of them actually believed me. I did not really want to drag on the cold joke but they simply did not even bother to read my Facebook profile after chatting with me for a couple of months.

I’m beginning to ponder over why friends want to continue conversations when they do not even want to find out more about the other party when they can do it just in a few clicks.

Nevertheless, it seems useless to try to elaborate more on anywhere since the person who reads it everyday will never understand you too.

Never explain yourself. Your friends don’t need it and your enemies won’t believe it.

Impossible to Add a Paypal Donation Button

After spending around two hours to figure out how to add a Donation button to my non-profit websites, I give up trying.

I’m quite an advanced internet user and that I have done it before previously like at least more than four years ago, it seems so weird.

Their help section does mention about going to the “merchant services” link and choosing “website payments standard”, but the “Donation” text is nowhere to be seen. I have googled for the solution as well and come across a website which mentions “Silly Paypal…they’ve made it so hard” and I know it certainly is not my fault. The instruction leads me to nowhere in the middle of the desert as well.

I’m a person who claims to give up easily, but within me, I can actually persist longer than most people. Alas, after setting aside so much time to halt my three days of blog entries and other major tasks, I have really given up after dropping Paypal a message through their contact page.

Obviously, something must be wrong with the navigation of the site, or, probably, they have removed the feature of allowing donations to be made to their clients.

A Slower Jog to Marina Barrage

[Tuesday, 6 April, 2010]

My plan to go into jogging was almost halted by my sleepiness. My back was aching. It was beyond my determination for the evening to withstand it and I actually went to lie down at 6pm, dozing off soon.

I woke up at around 7pm. I was not in a clear state of mind but I knew I did not want to skip the jog again when I was not bounded by work anymore. My mum returned home at the same time. After gearing up myself in the half awake mind, I even used the wrong key to unlock the lock.

It was very late by then. I set off from Shenton Way besides the Singapore Conference Hall at around 6.45pm after doing my warm-up, and managed to squeeze through the gays to reach Marina Barrage at the timing of 19 minutes 43 seconds. I was expecting the lousy timing since my body could not function properly after the nap. At least, I was much faster compared to the past when I had to spend around 23 minutes to complete the course.

The sky was dark by the time I reached but the stars shone brightly. A kite with some lighting caught my attention in the middle of the stars. The string had three or four lighting too to add on to the beautiful sky full of stars. I was surprised to see the usual green snake at the hour but it certainly looked much less impressive in the absence of the sunlight.

I found a less crowded spot to lie down. The night was not as windy as usual but I still managed to cool down soon. Planes tried to steal the attention of the stars and it turned out to be a more beautiful sky. If it was not for my tummy upset, I would have stayed longer.

After getting out of the toilet, I set off at around 8.45pm in my weak body. I knew I could never race against my usual timing anymore but I was quite certain that I could beat my previous timing since my return trip was always faster. As I began moving towards the T-Junction, the bus arrived. Though it had given me a good head start, I was overtaken in the end. I managed to pass by the bus-stop seconds after all the passengers alighted.

Nevertheless, my timing was 19 minutes and 42 seconds, which was only 1 second faster than the previous timing. I was quite flared up with myself.

Mediacorp Filming with Rachelle

[Monday, 5 April, 2010]

After working hard in the morning, I could not doze off. It was to my horror that I had filming in the morning and I needed to reach Mediacorp by 8am.

I was late for around ten minutes. The guy at the wardrobe was nice like in the past. He thought I had filmed in “bao jia wei guo” and found me familiar, which I did not. I found it quite a chore for they needed me to change shirt since the colour crushed with some other actors’. I was wondering why the assistant producer did not contact me…

There was a girl in school uniform who came over to my side to look at a squirrel, trying to capture the moment. I pointed for her at the location and later on, she moved to my side to wait with me, and we began chatting. She was known by Rachelle. I sent the lady a message but she called Rachelle instead. Later on, we realised the bus was at the back and thus we got up to wait for Nat Ho before we took off to the exact filming location.

It was a long wait there. Rachelle at the age of fourteen was hyperactive and made friends easily. We had great fun chatting with the audio experts, Ah John and Ah Heng. The director, Lai Ling, was a very humorous and nice lady that I did not mind having to reach there at 8am and only got to start filming after noon.

The uncle sent both of us back to Mediacorp and offered to give us a lift to Toa Payoh since Rachelle was staying there. The wardrobe auntie started with attitude again but I seemed to have melted her. The bus driver dropped us at the front office to exchange our identification cards back and it started raining on the way to Toa Payoh. I was very worried when the chatty uncle dropped me at the MRT station and insisted to send her home directly. I regretted not asking her to exchange numbers so that she could message me once she got home. It kept me worried throughout the journey, until I reached home, added her in Facebook and she accepted me some time later.

I was alone when I got home and I tried to pack my work area and wardrobe. Before I could make a miracle, my elder brother returned with his girlfriend and I halted everything. That was sufficient to hurt my back.

Sunday Meals with Elder Brother and his Girlfriend

[Sunday, 4 April, 2010]

I spent my Sunday on Facebook marketing.

My elder brother went down to get lunch for his girlfriend and I since my mum did not call home. He bought a little too much for my stomach to consume. My mum called home at around 2.30pm to ask if we wanted to get anything.

My younger brother started webcamming with me in his friend’s host’s house. When my mum returned, she took over and I set aside my work.

At night, my mum went for a dinner and thus, I joined my brother and his girlfriend at the Maxwell Food Centre for dinner. The bowl of chicken porridge did not worth $3.50. I was quite irritated with an uncle who tried to sell tissue to us; I supposed it was illegal to do that and the fact that he looked perfectly fit, unlike the usual old grandmas, was disgusting.

KTV at Iluma’s K-Suites and Movie at Vivocity

[Saturday, 3 April, 2010]

On Saturday, it started pouring before I could leave my house to join my ex-colleagues for the karaoke session at Iluma. However, after I opened my umbrella at the road, I realised most people were not carrying their umbrellas anymore; the rain had stopped specially for me.

The train was crowded. In return for the bad squeezy journey, I got to see babes all over the places, especially at Bugis. Since I was late, I made my way out of the underground as quickly as possible because the crowds would slow me down ten times my usual pace. I realised I got out at the wrong exit and had to waste extra time on waiting for the traffic light.

After reaching Iluma, I scratched my head for the location of K-Suites. Jenne called me to end my search at the fourth storey. I went down to meet them and I was the last to arrive. We were put into a small room at first but we decided it would be too squeezy for us and Jenne requested for a room with bed. As I walked past the rooms, I realised all of them were decorated nicely and differently; I was greatly impressed.

Our room was occupied mostly by the bed. Two LCD televisions were clear. At the side near the door was a controller, which included making a few sounds such as cheering, whistling and jeering. There was a small corner with a computer which came with internet access.

Zaki occupied himself mostly with the computer after he crazily stuffed food into his stomach. I joined in the fun as well, however, took much lesser food than him. The crazy thing was about the free-flow drinks since we had a coupon, which Jenne gotten from the previous fun. I was still shy like usual and did not sing until Jingkun picked a few songs for me. I died at the first song after chewing very long with the finger food.

With my younger brother gone to Germany, bringing the shared Sony camera along, I felt the great photography crisis when the images taken inside the dim room were horribly shown on the LCD screen of the old Olympic camera. I knew I could never get images as sharp and especially while using freehand during daylight.

After the karaoke, which we paid thirty-five bucks each, I joined Zaki, Jenne, Joei and Christine for the movie – The Lovely Bones – at Vivocity. Weitat and Jingkun bid me farewell after the toilet break, having a good laugh over the nacho Jingkun dropped into my shoes earlier on. Jenne did a quick shop for her pencil at Bugis before we took the train over to Harbourfront. We camped for a long time at the ticket booth for collection of the tickets, buying of food and waiting for Christine to withdraw money. Luckily, the movie started only after we went to the toilet to clear the water we consumed at the K-Suites earlier.

The Lovely Bones was filmed in an artistic and poetic way. It came with many horror scenes with anticipation of dangers. I found it quite dragging and in the mid of the two hours show, I really wished it would end soon. Zaki, on the other hand, loved it a lot.

At around nine o’clock, we bid each other farewell. The girls took cabs while I accompanied Zaki to the MRT control station before I crossed over to the opposite bus-stop.
