Half Awake in the Gym

My initial plan was to visit the TCM at 8am and go to Tze Khit’s gym to continue the work for him before meeting Irwin to work together. I was too tired to drag myself up and thus I gave up visiting the doctor.

I received replies from all the relevant departments regarding the dumping of cigarette butts issue. One of them even told me they had monitored the suspected units but could not find any trace of illegal dumping. I really doubted their commitment since the inconsiderate smoker usually did it after midnight and which government sector would really send their men to monitor it at such hour? The town council men came with letter to urge residents not to commit the crime. I was very impressed with their promptness but the letter was too friendly to scare any unkind smoker off.

Irwin had a sudden change of plan and told me to meet him up in the early afternoon. I went to the Post Office to pay my income tax before going to the gym to get the picture files from Tze Khit so that I could help him to work on the poster. However, when I reached the gym, Irwin changed his plan again and told me that he would contact me later. I continued working on Tze Khit’s websites at the gym in my jeans. I was prepared to get Irwin’s call and thus I did not change into sports gear.

I made a grave mistake when the laptop’s battery died off. As I had placed the adapter into a different compartment in my lively bag, I thought I had forgotten to bring it along. After reaching home, I saw my empty table and the memory flashed through my brain. I went back to continue with the work until nearly 8pm when I finished off the important updates, I went home for dinner. It was a draining afternoon for I hated researching for products, which was in fact beyond my duty.

Then I contacted Irwin but he seemed too busy to meet up.

It has been more than a fortnight since I wrote the article on No More Multiple Webcam Chatting in MSN and I have been receiving a lot of traffics from web queries regarding it. It reminds me time is dashing fast as more MSN Windows Live Messenger users are going to download and install the latest version of the chat messenger (currently Version 2009 Build 14.0.8117.416) and start wondering the lost feature.

Yes, for those of you who are still figuring out how to do the multiple MSN webcam, you can jolly well forget about it for now because the team of MSN Windows Live Messenger is going to drop it in its feature list in future, and this is what many users and I mean as “downgrade of Windows Live Messenger”. Therefore, please stop searching for the “Show my webcam” or “View my webcam” button.

At least for now and future, you still get to do webcam with your contact using the Video Chat feature.

To summarise the difference between Webcam and Video Chat:

MSN Windows Live Messenger team is removing the Webcam feature in their development as to concentrate on the Video Chat feature. This will greatly affect more MSN webcam chat users and soon, more users will be spending hours trying to figure if their chat software is corrupted or their windows are invaded by virus. As they start googling for the problem, it will take some time for them to figure out about the new development of the MSN team after viewing all the pages about how McAfee Antivirus software has conflicts with the messenger. This is a true experience of mine, and now I’m still feeling so silly about the hours of time I have wasted.

Seriously, the MSN Windows Live Messenger team needs to develop the Video Chat feature such that the MSN software allows multiple webcam chat windows as to please many users; otherwise, it is totally a wrong move to remove the Webcam feature.

Finally, Dinner with Miss Beautiful

I slept after 3am and was woke up by my elder brother and his girlfriend who got home from fishing. It was before 9am and they were speaking loudly in the living room and I could not get back to sleep after that. I gave the hairdresser some calls but she did not pick up and all of them seemed to be diverted to mobile phone. Alas, she called me back and I made an appointment with her at 1pm.

The achievement of the day was to complete a complaint letter regarding dumping of cigarette butts through HDB windows. It was a very long intended work and I was quite surprised that none of my neighbours had spoken up on the inconsiderate act since years ago.

I went to meet Irwin in the mid afternoon at Funnan Centre. After walking around for some time, I finally got myself a new mouse. The brand was Dexs and it was a laser gaming mouse costing around $14. The clicking was good and the shape was just right; I felt the price was worth it. I did not get an expensive mouse since my fingers were probably too strong and I did not want to waste the fund since I would be changing it more often than a normal user would.

Next, we proceeded to Sim Lim Square in Irwin’s brother’s car but we did not get anything. In the end, we went to West Coast Park but it was already quite late and we did not stay there for long before he sent me to Tanjong Pagar MRT. I dozed off a few times on his car and the sleepiness kept me quiet. Irwin was being very sarcastic to me all along since he got to know about my dinner appointment.

In my sleepy head, I went to Tampiness to meet Miss Beautiful. It was a long awaited meal with her. She chose to go to the foodcourt and buy food separately so that I could not give her a treat. It was a pity that it was late and we could not chat for long. Nevertheless, I was too sleepy that I was not as crappy as usual. Even though it was a very long and tiring trip just to have a quick dinner, I did not mind about it.

I cherish friendship more than others, especially when it comes to friendship with people of excellence character. How many friends can make real sacrifice for others in these days?

Updating the Non-Profit Sites

Sleeping in the room guarded nicely by the new air-conditioner, somehow the comfort turned negative in the morning. My nose was too sensitive to air-conditioner and I had to endure the nose blockage. I was perfectly alright previously when I was sleeping with my brother using the old and weak air-conditioner.
The main achievement of the day was coming out with a new idea for the SmokeForWhat website to include a page to list down “quit smoking” in different languages. It was a very tedious job and I got quite fed up in the midst of doing it.
Next, I modified the Life is so Beautiful website’s layout using the new Blogger’s template.

New Air-Conditioner Installation

When my mum got home, my brother was sound asleep. He did not mention about his new plan for moving the furniture as his girlfriend came over and we could not squeeze into his bedroom. Hence, my mum and I decided to do the moving after waking up.

I did not sleep early and my mum woke me up at 12.30pm to my shock since the air-conditioner men would be arriving at 1pm. It was not a good time for lunch. We managed to push the furniture in time, however, I was right that the bed and my younger brother’s tall cabinet had to be moved as well, and the workers helped us; I felt quite embarrassing having them to do the extra work.

While the two young men were reinstalling the air-conditioners, I swept the floor regularly to prevent the broken concrete from causing injury as they had to drill a hole in the wall and cutting the cable’s casing. Other than that, I was standing around, trying not to block the way. Needless to say, I could not work on my laptop since my working area was occupied by the mattresses and other furniture.

The work was completed near evening. My elder brother returned soon after to help moving the furniture when I was exhausted from the famine and probably standing around plus the lack of sleep.

We started ordering for food soon and the three of us ate inside the bedroom, laughing over the new temporary arrangement of the furniture. We had to move them back to probably the old places upon my younger brother returned and it was a hassle. The latest problem was that the television set with the fan on top was blocking the windows and I was too lazy to open it during the day.

There were quite a number of things I learned from the entire air-conditioner purchasing process until the end of the installation, which included the common tricks of the salespersons.

I was pinning very high hope on the new system that the electricity bill would be greatly reduced, however, I was also afraid of the higher excess usage of it.

Preparation for Air-Conditioners Installation

On Thursday, just as I was considering over how to resolve the matter of the bad incident at IMM, their staff called me and offered to send their delivery man over. I could see that they were doing something about their negligence and thus I did not want to pursue about the matter anymore and accepted their offer. My complain letter was a victory, though the result was not the most satisfying one.

The most fruitful thing I did for the day was a little tidying up of my house in preparation for the next day’s air-conditioner installation. There was nothing much I could do for the bedroom since I did not want to start moving the furniture alone and end up worsening my back’s condition; moreover, I needed my family’s consent in the placement of the furniture. Therefore after finishing the living room’s area near my work area, I merely tried to unplug all the power cables to make sure the items were easier to be moved when necessary.

Working on New Web Design

My mum was certain that the painting work at the common corridor was done and she started moving the flower pots back to the formation together with my elder brother. We stacked up the wood prank and tiles properly and carried up the pots. Next, we started securing every one of them with strings to prevent strong wind from blowing them off. My mum made us woodcutters and it had been quite some time since I used a saw.

I slept late like usual and woke up at around 10am. It was either due to the heatiness from the pizza or my bad sleeping posture, I could feel stiffness in my neck, thus I cancelled the meeting with shifu.

I spent the afternoon working on a new web design for Jeremy but the sleepiness took me on a great battle.

Long Hours of Web Editing at the Gym

After having a bad dinner hours ago, my family and I were strike with famine. We decided to go to the Maxwell Food Centre for our supper. It was drizzling but the sky was very stingy with the raindrops.

The first thing that stunned me was a table of guys smoking right in the centre of the food centre. There were rules in the country but how often people tried to defiance broadly? It happened in Chinatown Complex as well. I supposed these inconsiderate law-breakers were thinking policemen would never drop by at the late hour.

I had a plate of noodle while the rest of them shared two bowls of porridge together with some pig’s organs. Before we left, another old man was lighting his stick.

After reaching home, I kept myself awake to type a complain letter to IMM regarding the matter of making go down a waste trip. My persistence to fight against sleeping late had failed again.

In the afternoon, I went to the gym again but I was working on Tze Khit’s websites throughout the day. I joined them in the takeaway from The Rice Experience again and the teriyaki chicken rice tasted quite nice but was definitely not very filling.

A cute girl went to the gym with her aunt and we were all stunned by her age because she looked much more matured. I had my gym workout for a while before Tze Khit looked at his websites and asked me for more amendments. It took quite some time for me to work out how the web submission forms were coded. Bobby was very hungry and we ordered two pizzas and bread.

After reaching home, I quickly submitted my complain email to the IMM’s web submission.

The Worst Encounter at IMM

The main goal of the day was to go down to IMM to redeem our free gift for purchasing the air-conditioner.

I focused well in the afternoon to update Tze Khit’s websites but it was tough to change another person’s work. The solid two plus hours saw me doing great but amount of work was too much.

I set off with my mum at 6pm to meet my brother and his girlfriend at Tanjong Pagar MRT station. We transited to the IMM shuttle bus at Jurong East. The worst thing that could happen simply fell on us and after queuing up at the Customer Service counter, the lady told us the shipment for the gift was delayed. We tried to ask for the beach chair instead of the bag but the lady refused for it was meant for purchasing after 4th and we bought the air-conditioner much earlier. The thought of returning to the place again specially for the gift pissed everyone off. I was the most furious of all since I could not tolerate such crap from a big company who did not inform us earlier.

We had a bad dinner at the food court. The food was really nasty and I had the worse sweet and sour pork meat ever.

After that, we went back to the All Best shop to see if they could reissue the receipt for us but the boss’ mum was busy and the guy at the counter rejected us. We went to the management office at level 4 but it was empty. We decided to drop them an email then.

Supposed to Go Out

I became a good boy and started sleeping at around 3am, which was only an hour later than when I was at Zaki’s place.

My brunch was taken at Burger King, enjoying the $4.95 meal with my elder brother and his girlfriend.

I was waiting for Hirman’s reply whether he wanted to go for a swim or movie but he stopped suddenly. Since he was rushing his work for the next day’s submission, I did not bother him.
